Operation G-Note$ "09"

My overall goal is 20,000 dollars in "09" Starting bankroll nothing. I have come up from nothing so many times but i always cash it out. Two times i've sat with it all (like 600 bucks) and tried to go on a run only to have it backfire, something i never want to do again!!! The high end of my goal is 20 G~Notes and low end of my goal is 2 G~notes. I know 20 is high but i'm going for it! I know i have to play a lot and finish in some MTT's to have a shot at 20k. I'm setting myself a pretty wide goal for a year 2-20k so we will see how it goes. Thanks for all your support!

What site do you play? The one I'm on (Full Tilt) has freerolls which fill up very quickly to 2700 people and first prize is only $15. They have freerolls for certain countries as well and for Australia, we get around 800-1500 players daily.

From what I've read of your posts, you sound like a capable player. In my opinion, you'd be better off depositing $50 into your account and start grinding at the lowest stakes and slowly moving up.

My goal for this year is to move up to 25NL from my $50 deposit but I like your ambition and I wish you good luck. :)

Anyway , save time on the freerolls, look up VCpoker. theyre a reputable bookmakers here in the UK and they are offering 10$ no deposit starting money on a new account with potentially another 25$ as bonus. Alternatively google free poker money. This should give you the money to start with and save you time in your operation.
Only trouble with this is that you'll be foregoing rakeback , but will get you going to raise a roll that you can then transfer back to a rakeback deal.

its pretty hard to find free poker money for US players. especially if he already has an account at most of the sites.

it is available if you go looking. VC poker have closed the doors on US players though. Heres one I found through googling (I have deleted the affiliate so you'll have to look for it yourself since FTR have there own agreements with poker sites) and quoting this to show that it can be found.

Chrisa- I play at so many different sites. I play at Tilt, Stars, UB, Bodog, Mintedpoker, WSEX, Pokerworld, Players only, and Cake. But the ones i play at everyday is Tilt and Poker World. The rest i play ofton but not everyday. I always like to have a game going so if i only was to play at FT then i might have to wait awhile before a game starts. So while waiting i can join another game elsewhere until the other game i really wan to play starts. FT really offers the best freerolls in my opinion. Pokerworld has a daily 300 at 4:55 and its full of fish. I mean your not gonna make the money everytime because they get lucky and suck out sometimes but more ofton then not your gonna place the top 80 ITM. The only bad thing is after you do win money its hard to be in a consistant game there because they only have like 600 active players.
Minted poker has a 200 dollar freeroll and WSOP freerolls with only like 1000 players top 20 win tickets to the next sat top 4 win round 3 5-10 win round two and the rest round one.
Cake is ok to they have a lot of 250k sat freerolls and such. The rest suck.

You have to stick with the freerolls. I know you hate them but it's the best place to learn from the situational mistakes that only experience will teach you. When I started playing online, I sucked. Then I made past the donkey rounds, to the bubble. This is where you need freeroll experience the most. Only practice will give you the tools to beat the Bubble monster. It seem like you'd prefer to play cash games anyway. Just remember that the lower the BB, the more donkeys you will run against...

WTF, you are NOT making 20k unless you're playing 100k hands/month. Be realistic. If you disagree with me then breakdown your hands per stake, and how much you're making at each.

I didn't read everything because it's long, but if you're serious then fuck with the freerolls, and deposit $50-100 and start at 2NL.

Well ok i've talked with people who have done it. I will need some 1st place MTT finishes but its not impossable to do this in a year.

Not impossible, but good fucking luck. You will be lucky to break $5k imo. Rooting for you nonetheless though :)

i have had similar poker experience 3 years on line played all sorts. Had to cash out my total BR $1250 last year as moved half way round the world and needed the cash to pay some expenses.
In the past have lost my bankroll several times and this time dedided to do it for free. Found a good Freeroll on stars. 210FPP entry to the sunday $200,000 guaranteed. Its a two table satelite and the top 6 get paid. Played it 5 times, never spent FPP's before so have a few, made the prize twice.
I then unregistered to the $200,000 giving me a BR of T$22. Started playing the $2 180 man turbo and have had a second and a third. Current BR $96. Start an operation and i will follow your progress.

Besides- building a bankroll very rapidly requires an aggressive bankroll management which implies a low (but real) risk of going broke.

Freeroll example. Carbon offers a monthly 50 K freeroll. With Around 2500 entrants the EV (for an average player) is 20 dollars. Your EV is maybe around 30. Making it to the money takes at least 4-5 hours. If u make more money at a regular job (hell yeah), I think it is better work and deposit that money into your bankroll.

I did the same thing myself- grinding from 20 to 2700 in a year, but the profits from a 20-100 dollar bankroll can not even pay for the electricity the PC consumes.

Players do not get that much better at higher stakes. Get to the stakes where you can earn some real money as quickly as possible and stop wasting precious time on freerolls. That requires a decent starting bankroll (100- 400).

As said, make it an OP and GL!

You may want to break up your dream of $20K into smaller increments. Whether you can do it or not has nothing to do with anything if setting such a big target is going to feel like it's not happening when you make progress. For example, if your BR is starting so low, the first three months may only get you to the $500 BR or less. This may or may not be on schedule, but how would you know without smaller targets that have been planned out. Personally, I don't think it's even remotely possible just because of history. You may think your good but until you start posting actual hands you have played and some of your reasoning, nobody is going to think you can do it. Also, if you have this capability, why are you not only busto, but unable to deposit?

If you're starting from nothing it's probably better to build up a play money roll and sell it to one of those losers who buy play money for like $5 per million play money chips, then to play freerolls. Better still to go get a job and deposit.

Thank you all for your support and i did say i want to make 20k this year but even 10 would be great. I'm gonna do my best thats all i can say. I currently have only like 6 bucks lol so i know its going to be a battle. I have made 500 in a month from nothing before using bankroll management but it wasnt strict bankroll management which i'm sticking to this time around. My mission is 20k but i will be happy with any extra income from playing poker in my spare time. All i'm gonna say about my personal biz online is that im seriosly strapped in debt a lot from my teen years (credit card debt not from poker lol) and i have two children and my check is gone the second i get it so i do not get in legal trouble. This poker money would help me tremendously so i have all the reasons in the world to play good diciplined poker. Thank you all for your support.

Well i thaught i would just give you all a update and also kinda keep track of how i'm doing on my mission.
I have $6.25c at PokerWorld. The smallest limit is 2-4c there so my plan there is this. I'm going to sit shortstacked 2 dollars if i lose then do it again and if i lose that then i have 2.25 left and i can play eight 25c sngs until i get up to 4.25 then buy in shortstacked again. I sat down with 2.18 and turned it into $6.25 so i don't think its going to be a problem winning again there but you never know so i'm leaving myself some outs so to speak. If i was to only play freerolls there until i made say even 20 buy ins at 5nl it would take me all year because they only have 1 freeroll a day that i actually play because its worth it. ($300.00)

I just placed at FullTilt in a 100 dollar freeroll 8th place so i got whopping 3 dollars. I'm gonna play 1 dollar sngs until i hit 100 bucks. So if i lose the 3 bucks then back to the freerolls and i'm gonna keep doing this until i hit 100 bucks (play 1 sngs with freeroll money). Then its on to 5-10c.

I found this site (its sucky lol) but its called NoPayPoker. The players there are bad but the payouts are bad also lol. I mean were talking pennies folks but i have a plan. To grind out whatever i can there until i hit 30 bucks (their min to withdraw) and ship it to pokerstars where i have never made a deposit and start playing 2nl. So far i got $3.40 there. i also have a whopping 60c at wsex poker so my entire chumproll amounts to a grand total of $13.25.

So i gotta ways to go guys :lol:

Something to realize about goals is that they are rarely achieved unless you clearly outline what you have to do to achieve them. You need to know how you're going to make the money, when you're going to make the money, and where you're going to make the money. It's not enough to say, "I want to make $20k". Something already said to break it down, and so you should do that. Where should you be by the end of February? By the end of August? What will you do if you're not on schedule? Will it be possible to achieve your goal if you only have $5k by the end of September? If yes, how will it be done?

I said my overall goal is 20k this year but i will be happy with less. I'm not gonna set myself little goals along the way. I have one goal MAKE MONEY. I have set guidelines for myself. I'm gonna do what Chris Ferguson did with his 0 to 10k challenge. heres the link

So its not like i'm going into it with a blindfold on. I did say i would be happy with any extra income. 20,000 is the max i'm hoping to reach this year 2,000 is the least. NLHE has to many swings and my life is so hectic to say this first month i'm gonna make 300 bucks. I might not get any time in or i could just hit a down swing so instead of making little goals i made one over all goal and i have a year to acomplish it.
