AJ 100nl turn spot

Opp was a kinda bad player, high ish about 30% VPIP, 12 pfr, 3bet% was highish for him at about 9% over few hundred hands. His AF was about 35%.much

Opp hasnt done much at all from what Ive seen, not involved to much.

why wouldn't you shove?

Because the number of hands that we are ahead of and will call a shove + the number of hands that are beating us but would fold to a shove is not a very big number.

this doesn't matter quite as much here as draws are a huge part of his range. 1 draw got there, but the low end straight draw is less likely to raise this flop than KQ/FD's. i like a shove here too.

This is a good example of a hand where in the past I would shove and lose to a set or an over pair.

I agree about the draws in his range. Curious to see what others think here.

Is it bad to call here and let him bluff the river when draws don't get there and call obv?

in a tough spot like this one without history/reads on villain, the following factors come into play in my decision making..

1) time spent at the table. How much longer do I plan sit at this table?
2) my image and/or the image i want to build/portray
3) my tolerance for variance
4) am i feeling particularly vulnerable to tilt

ex. if it's early and i want to LAG it up (having determined it is a profitable approach given the table dynamics) sitting on a comfortable roll and feeling focused.. I shove (prepared to learn I won't always have the best hand), make a note and move on.
