Is this ok?

Unfortunately i was doing too many things at once and did not have any reads on the guy. Flop bet was meant to be 4.5 rather than 3.5 fwiw.

Is this a good turn to check raise? Obviously I'm folding to a push but if he calls whats my action on the river?

Villains flop calling and raising range are even more important.
- This being 3way,
- and with us being OOP
- and thus hero not likely getting to showdown
- and with a hand that has very little equity against their flop calling range

I'd much rather cbet something like AK than 44.


But feel free to disagree. I generally cbet a little less than most, and it might not be enough in these spots.

cbetting here is huge +ev reguardless of our cards, esp at this flop and esp at 50nl

Yes, cbet this. 4.50 would have been much better than 3.50 though, pay attention next time OP.

all your arguments are only important IF we get called... c-betting here is +EV by itself.

how strong does it look when someone opens UTG and fires into 2 others on the flop? put yourself in their situation and forget for a minute what cards we have and think what hands we're representing. With all the info we gather on the flop we can now probably state villain is ahead of our actual holdings on the turn. Then we have to decide if we think we can get him off his hand. Since he's called flop here after we've shown strength from utg I wouldnt try it too much as i don't see him bet/folding a lot on this dry board. Without considering any history with/reads on villain

edit: oh yeah, i much rather c/r something that has more outs then the 2 we have, because when he calls we're toast here.

cbetting is ok against loose-ish opponent calling ranges but you have just about the worst hand in your range to bet here so you should at least consider giving up. basically the turn is a bad board to check raise and you have almost no equity when called so giving up should be your best option.

Lets assume he is a solid, thinking player (however unlikely this is). What hands would you expect him to fold with this check raise?

the only hands he's going to b/f this turn w/ are pure floats, and there aren't many of those in his range since its a 3way pot. cbet is fine, c/f is by far the best option on the turn. double barreling here is infinitely better than a c/r.

that is an important reason against many opponents and why even vague reads here would be somewhat helpful

It's really unfortunate that i don't have even the slightest of a read on him.I was multitasking to say the least. I have notes on most of the people i regularly see playing and he happened to be someone i do not recall ever playing with. I really need to do better with my focus when i play so i can have a better idea in spots like this. Knowing, this I guess it really makes my line bad.
