100NL bluffshove river in 3bet pot

I was only 2 Orbits at this table. Villain seemed to be opening loose in EP as far as we can call this a read after 2 orbits... he did open both times UTG and 1 time UTG+1. He wasn't opening every hand though, so it's not like he was a complete maniac, more like 40/25 at that time.

On river my thoughts are that my turn check can seem like a missed c/r so I could have a T, also shoving river I still have JJ/AK/QQ in my range and most of his hands are bluff catchers really. good?

I like a check fold the flop but this is probably fine as played.

agree with mcat. this flop hits his 3bet calling range pretty hard, so i like a c/f. as played i think its fine and he really cant call with much.

I don't like it preflop. You need more hands on villain or a better read on how he plays 3bet pots if you are going to 3bet him OOP w/ a small PP.

As for your play once you got involved, it is meh. I think he shows up with a calling hand on the river a lot here and checks back a lot of his nut hands on the turn. QQ, JJ, AK, even some T's if he calls 3bets light IP. If I had a better read that he calls 3bets w/ all PP's IP then I think this play is much better. I also think 2 barreling is better if you think you can push him off his hand. $13 on the flop, $25 on the turn.

2 barreling this board with 55 would be unspeakably bad. Why do people insist on building big pots OOP with small pairs and then barreling like this.

I don't know, but I'm really good at this then watching my non-showdown winnings drop like a NASA shuttle in cold weather.
I was just thinking IF your read was that villain is going to call the flop cbet w/ 22-99 then you have more FE on the turn than on the river.

i agree on not barrelling turn. i'm pretty much done with the hand, but on the river I saw an opportunity

i have a problem cbetting too much after I 3bet. I should c/f a bit more

First 2 streets are bad imo, but I like river.

I think $40 accomplishes the same thing if not more.

I really wouldn't threebet 55 against this player you described, nor would i bet flop.

It makes sense for him to have all sorts of hands here. When he just flats the flop he can have a AQ/KQ/QJ/QQ, AT/KT, JJ, 99. His turn check makes a ton of sense for almost all of these hands, maybe except AT/KT, but even those I think still check the turn a lot of the time just cuz it looks like you really have a Q, KK/AA, or nothing.

I guess the river is still okay though since he is going to have a tough time calling w/ worse than AK or a boat. Either way, I'd want to have a bunch more information about this player before I tried some all in bluff here. Seems pretty spewy imo.

If he's raising $12 on top of his $1 BB out there already it makes sense.

The pot's about $50, so maybe $48 or something. The allin is a bluffier bet than $40, or $48 and many players are more likely to call it.

If he's not got enough to call he'll probally fold either way. If he's got the nuts he's calling either way. If he's facing a tough choice then villains more likely to lose control and call outta frustation to allin then near pot-size (which is virtually allin, anyhow).
