When TAggs can't have a hand

when i make calls like this, the fish always has 44 or something. grhh.
This seems like a pretty bad spot to make a hero call though...the only hands u beat are AK/Q and sometimes random suited aces. AQ would def bet this flop...so that leaves AK n stuff....i dunno, seems a bit thin imo.

ummm... I think this is pretty bad....

given that your title can also be "when tagg's never have air"... after the flop action

This seems more like when tags can't have a hand that they played well.

Sometimes I check, sometimes I bluff the flop. I think online players bet so much, that many of them don't check a good hand or good draw often enough not to bluff when checked to a lot.

If he's pretty good (on the level that most taggs are), wouldn't he check/call most hands that beat us on the river?

This. Also I think he bets a flush draw on the flop like 99.97% of the time.

His line makes no sense and isn't repping very many reasonable hands. So as CTS sayz, this is a bluff a lot.

I think my mistake here is not raising because he could be bluffing with like 88 here.

yea i mean i doubt hes ever calling a raise, but you cant really rep a boat yourself, but you can easily rep the flush.

Sure it's hard for him to have a lot that beats you but it's even harder for him to have air. It's the ratio that matters, so this is not a good call. I can't think of any hand you beat that plays the flop like this other than maybe AQ or a really poorly played AK.

the only plausible hand for a tagg to show up with that you beat is AQ, and with this hand his cbet % is going to be very high. hes far more likely to have a hand like KK or AT

Well, he knows that you don't have a J and that you will probably call with any pair so I don't think he's betting anything lower than a T here. Only option for me would be to play back at the flop if you think he's got air...

I think you got pretty lucky to win this hand. Raising seems kind of silly.

Flop bet is easy money against most of the field util they catch on to what you're doing.

Given the action so far, I don't think he can call a raise very often and my line would look plausable for a flush draw.

I'm not opposed to betting in position in situations like this, but I think there are better boards for it when you're holding a pair of threes. It looks like he actually induced a minor mistake from you by checking A-Q. (Although his river bet seems like a blunder.) I guess a raise might be better than calling once he bets the river. Folding definitely trumps them both, though.

For whatever it's worth, I think hands like this show the merit of checking a jack or flush draw on this flop in your opponent's spot.

Really? Without a read that BB donks everything he wants to play or UTG never c/r's an agro player, this flop bet can't be profitable on it's own. There is no wetter board, we're in swampland here.

Well if he has a flush its gonna be a high one, if he has a J its gonna be a good one so i dont really like it.
