wtf, my dad told me this story like 10 years ago, and every once in a while it still pops up in my head. the funny part is, he told it and i remember it *exactly* how it was written in the OP (usually memories get mangled and changed over the years).

i watched magolia today because of this thread. i was letdown. i guess because i was expecting something more eye opening along the lines of crash
