Operation: Beating the Pants off Micro Stakes
Ok, here is the start of my operation. I have been a recreational player for a good 5 years. I would make a deposit and either bust out or make a good run then cash most of it out, then lose the rest. I have had a couple of good cashes, (live at the casino/ and a couple of tourneys) that pretty much made me a break even player or at best a marginal winner.
I deposited $100 at Stars a couple months ago and started at 5nl. Right now My bankroll is at about $400 and I am currently at 10nl and have been having some pretty big swings. I am tired of the micro stakes and would like to advance my game to at least get up to the mid stakes eventually where I can actually make a little bit of money on the side. So hopefully I can use this operation to help motivate myself by helping me track my progress and force myself to think about how I am playing and focus on fixing the many leaks in my game.
I have pretty much always played 4-6 tables at NL 6max games and that’s what I will be playing most of the time. I have never really played a lot of Full Ring games but I think I might at least give them a shot and see if I can add that to my game as well.

A few known leaks:
I overvalue big pairs
Have a hard time letting go of overpairs
I need to start letting go of marginal hand easier
I don’t believe min raises enough
I find reasons to call instead of finding reasons to fold
I don’t review enough of my sessions to learn what I did wrong
I c-bet sometimes when I shouldn’t
I sometimes have tilt issues
Plus many of the other leaks a micro stakes donkey has
Things I am going to start doing:
Post more hands in forum to get advice
Comment on more hands in the forums
Read more posts on forums and actually use the info to improve my game
Watch more videos from grinderschool
Review sessions either directly after session or before I start the next
Start Re-reading my poker books
Post my worst played hands here to be ridiculed by the masses
Update my operation with my progress
Try to find some people to start talking with on IM/do sweat sessions with
Stop sucking so bad at poker
Learning to put villains on ranges
