1/2 TT oop bad bluff catcher

Okay so in hindsight I guess this is terrible.
What read do you need to call this down, what sort of opponents will you do this against, and which won't you?

OPP: 22/17/3.0 with 77% cbet, 53% barrel

If turn comes a diamond, are you more or less likely to call again, if turn comes A or K or J are you more likely to call. Do you call once and just fold basically to any turn bet?

Obviously I'm having a problem here, supposedly i have 3.2k hands on this guy and I don't have any notes describing how he barrels or plays draws etc which is the info I'd need here.

preflop, flop, and turn i'd play the same. i wouldn't call a third barrel here. assuming this guy probably knows ur a regular, he wouldn't bluff when his range looks weak on "Level 1".

Dont forget our range includes a lot of diamond draws though, so he could fire 1/2 pot to get us to fold our AdXd hands. I'd probably call river if I got here, question is whether turn call is good?

it depends on how good he is
if he's good he realizes that all the draws missed and gives up on the river a decent % of the time because he expects you to go "hurr durr draws missed I call"
if he's mediocre he will fire the river bet because he has a busted draw
if he's a nit he won't bluff river

also depends whether he chickens out with QJ/KQ and checks river behind or, if he's good, he will merge his range expecting us to call a lot with the hand we have
I disagree that our range has a lot of diamond draws, because we're going to raise them some % of the time

so against someone who will read our soul like a book we're better off folding the turn or raising the flop for protection (although our hand could be a little too strong to raise/fold)

i don't think there's any missed draws in our range after we call the turn... SSNL regs dont play draws that passively against each other.

i think we should bet/fold the turn against straightforward passive opponents, but since this guy barrels the turn pretty often we should definitely c/c.


not exactly sure what to make of his bet sizing on the river. the sizing seems consistent with the flop and turn bets... that leads me to believe he is less likely to be bluffing than if he bet closer to pot on the river or something like that.

discussed it with my coach..

basically preflop, flop is fine. turn i have learned we should be looking more at "levels" - sure he barrels a lot BUT he knows turn sucks to barrel, and he knows that I know that too - so IF he has a decent draw he should be checking this back a lot, and the hands he actually barrels here usually have me beat - so recommendation was to fold turn.

if the turn is a different card, say an A or K or J then we have MORE reasons to call because those are the types of cards opp would barrel as a bluff or semibluff.

also a note: i almost never have a diamond draw here. what hands from BB am i flatting pre against UTG+1 ?? i dont play sc oop especially HU, i wouldnt call Ax dd either, sometimes I'll have a hand like AT/AJ/AQ/KQdd here in which case i'm pretty sure id be CR here all day

I could be way off. But I was always under the assumption that the reason these are good cards to bluff is because they will generally be helping his hand the majority of the time. And the lesser times they don't help him he will use them to bluff because he knows you can't (in most cases) profitably call there.

Someone correct me?

turn is one of those spots that sucks imo. you want to call because he is pretty likely to barrel this turn, but the shitty thing is taht you have no equity when behind.

I think I might be correct to fold turn, but strictly control your turn range. Like, say you'll fold 99/TT, call A8, call all queens, call most fds (seeing as 90% of flush draws have a pair or gut to go with them, or are the nfd). With that range you won't be at all exploitable to a second barrel, since you'll only really be folding 12 combos out of like a hundred.

also, you should never call an A/K/J turn

okay. calling turn J/K/A isn't smart here oop, however they are great cards for HIM to bluff at because we do expect him to hit a lot of those but he'll also be semibluffing a ton with like broadway FD's and such...

for instance hands like AK/AJ/AT/KJ/TJ etc of diamonds

one thing i find interesting is the mention of MY range including diamond draws, do you guys really expect my position to have many of these - I dont see it except the odd hand like AJ/AT of diamonds..
