T9 flops TP, 3bet pot BvB

Villain 31/25/6.0 over 52 hands. No real stats or reads about 3bet pots, ATS 57.

I wasn't sure I wanted to stack of on the flop, so I thought I'll take the pot control line IP.
Questions basically are, do you like checking behind flop or do you like betting? What's the plan for a raise?
Also, is river a standard call?

pot control lines are so gay because you pretty much admitted to him you don't have the top of your range and probably have something dumb like 66 or 9x

why 3bet, why not bet flop

3bet pre is fine imo because we have a straight draw and 2 flush draws

I would call since diamonds and all straight draws bricked out. I wouldn't expect to be ahead all the time but still feel it's necessary since we're underrepped and look ALOT like AK/AQ and pairs worse than a 9 that call turn and fold river. If he bet like $14 I'd be less inclined to call.

I think this is fine, now call.

3b size is pretty big imo.

I make it 4.5 pre in position
but also I would call pre I think an active player like this would open a lot of hands and our hand is very playable

I don't think my 3bet is great either, I prefer a call here actually.
But w.e. pre BvB.

Goat / iopq I didn't bet the flop because thought I would rarely get value and expected to get bluffraised enough that I didn't really know whether to call/shove or fold.

By a check I know I'm showing villain I have a marginal hand, and as I expect villain to be aggressive I thought I could call turn and river here with the very top of my marginal hands range.

Is a line of betting like 5, calling a small c/r and fold to further aggression even thinkable?

minsim i don't see the point of a flop bet either, primarily because we are in position. out of position my plan would be to b/f flop / b/f turn. even though 66/77/88 are the majority of hands we would expect to get value from, checking the flop out of position without a rock solid plan is going to make playing the hand extremely difficult.
