Wireless desktop adapter
Is anyone able to help me out with a suggestion? I bought a D-Link DWA-552 but my computer doesn't even know it's installed when I put it in. Reviews online say to not bother with it, so I need to return it but I have no idea what to replace it with.
I'm currently using Windows 7 Home Premium. I'd prefer PCI ... I have a USB adapter that I used before I reformated this past week, but it wasn't working very well and I think I've only had it a couple years. It never worked that great to be honest.
I hate my computer right now :( I've been using a mobile internet stick for internet as I try to solve this problem and it's fucking awful. Whenever I try to play poker I randomly time out all the time, argh.

How far away is your DSL modem and do you really need the wireless? If its near enough and you don't mind a cable just use an ethernet cable even temporarily. A couple of the reviews i read said that the dlink isn't strictly plug n play and that setting up the drivers for beginners can be a nightmare. You could try asking the shop where you bought it to install it for you as it appears dud and it will save them having to go through a returns process..

Yeah I'm considering just paying every time I need something done with my computer because I seriously spend HOURS on it every time something needs to be fixed.
I might just get another USB adapter then. Any suggestions?? I can't use the one I have now because it has no Windows 7 drivers

I just got one of these so my son could plug his xbox up in his room. Works very well.
