Maximum password length

Hi,
Is there a maximum password length for the site? Because I've tried to change my password two times to a 40 characters password, and the change password form at profile.php?do=editpassword it accepts a 40 characters password, but when I later try to login in I can not do it with the new password and have to reset the password.

umm, idk but 40 chars seems kind of like overkill.... why not just try 25 or so?

Don't discriminate against those of us that demand robust passwords.
