600nl - KK getting fancy

Villain is 23/12 over a small sample of 250 hands. I know from an unnamed source that he plays higher stakes. I have no notes or further reads.

Basically, I don't believe he has a jack all that often on the flop and I'm looking for a way to keep all his air spewing at me. I might just be spewing at him instead though....

I dunno I think flatting is better unless you have some sort of dynamic/read that makes re-popping better

If you flat what's your plan on the turn?

sidenote: I don't really think giving the opponents name is actually helpful in most cases since we're all going to have different reads/dynamics going on and that's not really gonna help the decision making process with the info I had at the time.

agree, was more curious than anything given the stats you provided.

turn would depend on timing/sizing/what card comes off etc ldo.

I can sort of see why you 3bet the flop now because when we call its just so wtf if he keeps firing and if he has like AQ or something it gives him a chance to repop since its a leveling war of neither of you having a J very often especially in these positions (depending on how loose you open preflop) so it might be the best way to keep him fos. If you flat its hard to say if he's going to keep firing blank turns/rivers though he has to at least be concerned when you do flat you have something.

I dunno if 400nl+ regs are really raising 77 and shit here but I see that sort of line all the time at 200nl or 100nl.

He's got a pretty tight pre-flop range unless you're an incredible spew monkey.

If he ever has a jack then his range is wider than most regs in this spot.... unless you think we're dealing with 55/JJ/air, either way I don't think playing back is a mistake here. I really hated folding but I didn't like the idea of calling and playing check/guess...

Some lines are standard for a reason. Call the flop raise and c/c down based on timing etc

what range do you put him on here?? i dont see how he can have bluffs hands that arent just marginals thatll float instead unless there some extra dynamic going on where he think u will fold everything but Jx here. But it would be cheaper for villian to probably float and take it down.

Given little reads and the preflop positiions of both players this is either a flop fold (ugh) or call flop and evaluate. only 3bet with dynamics.

Flop is a call or a fold. I understand that you don't believe him for a jack, but what calls a 4x raise ep/mp and raises this flop that you beat? I think he has AA and JTs/JJ a lot, and theres not a ton of preflop possibilities that flop air.

I think as a default I'd call the flop out of confusion, folding the turn mostly.

I wasn't going to post results since this was a genuine strat thread but villain called the shove with A3ss. I felt like this was a levelling spot and he would play back vs my weird line with his bluffs. I don't like my play regardless of results because we didn't have enough of a dynamic, but I do think that his preflop stats indicate that there will be a fair bit of air in his range.
