50NL - KK standardish spot in sb

Villain seems to be a straightforward nit and is running 10/6 with a 3% 3Bet over 300 hands.
I 4B for value + I'll be OOP + if I just call I'd invite the original opener and I don't want to play this hand OOP vs 2 players.

Since this guy is a nit I have his range at QQ+ AKs,AKo (mebbe JJ)

I'm just wondering about the right flop line here. I think if I bet anything more than 1/2 pot he'll just fold hi JJ, QQ, KK hands and obv continue with AA, AK. But why would I want to fold out JJ or QQ? I think if I check he'll play the hand pretty straightforward and I can comfortabley fold to any action, as I don't expect him to be betting JJ, QQ, KK here very often. I was thinking about betting small like 1/4 to 1/3 pot to keep his high pairs interested, but then I thought I'd be put into some tough turn spots with a lot of $$$ in the pot as he'll likely just call with his whole range.

if he never bluffs/retard vbets/otherwise gets you to fold your hand when he has JJ or QQ, i think this is a pretty standard check. from memory you play pretty nitty right? like 12/10 or therebouts? what's your image like to this guy? basically i see no value in betting here and i don't mind check/folding because nits don't attempt to value bet OR bluff this flop with anything worse than your hand. also if we check and he checks behind we open up the opportunity for getting value on later streets if he sucks enough at handreading.

oh, by the way, if he does call with his whole range to 1/4 pot as you said:

we got us a +EV value bet. however, given either we're dead to two outs, or he's dead to two outs, there are very few scare cards for our hand, so i don't mind letting another one or two fall before i go for a street of value (1/3 pot or whatever).

I don't think a straightforward nit 3 betting 3% even has JJ in his 3betting range vs an MP open, let alone his 4bet calling range. c/f seems gross but I think its what you have to do given reads. Betting into a range that is at best QQ+, AK and more likely to be weighted to KK+, AK is just spew.

man oh man do i need to pay more attention to others reads etc in HH analyses. i think i prefer flatting a 10/6's 3bet with KK than making his already strong 3-betting range stronger (by 4-betting him) and then playing a pot out of position against it.

I'm suggesting your 4bet is likely spew and would much prefer calling preflop

Yah I gathered that from your response. I realized that the initial range I gave him was too loose.


So my new question is how do we proceed vs an opponent who does have a 3B/call-4Bet range of JJ+, AKo,AKs b/c I see ppl play that range like this every now and again.

I highly doubt they call cold 4bets with all of their 3bet range, seems like a massive leak.

However, against a villain with that 3bet range I probably 4bet smallish, like 10-11. I would make it that small because I want him to call with his entire 3bet range (because its a massive leak). If it was an A high flop like this, b/fing 12.50 into what is now a pot of 20ish seems best because people don't fuck around in 4bet pots and if he flats I'm c/f turn and river like always.
