100nl overpair vs donk and unknown

I just want a line check here... feel like I'm being too results oriented to really brake this hand down. I don't remember much about UTG but he was a 55/3/2.7 and the button was an unknown I have no hands on him somehow either :)

from what I can see is that he could be shoving here with draws A7, A9, K9, 79, 74, 49, Ax... I have an overpair and he is a huge donkey so it makes it tough to fold here. board just doesn't seem like it really connects with his range in a big way

I'd 3bet pre, check flop and fold turn. Other than that I'd play it the same.

I would 3bet pre.

I don't hate the flop lead though, given UTG is a whale type and we want him calling down his nonsense hands.

If button had folded flop then I think calling his turn shove is close. But with your lead, button still in and he's still shoving, its pretty strong.

A fish can have 24,34,45,46, A4ss,K4ss, any suited 4xss really. A fish can even show up with JJ+ here or some ridiculous overpair nonsense.

don't think folding the turn is too bad with button still in as well.

Had to re-check the hh to appreciate the greatness in this sentence. Too bad I don't really agree. I don't hate flatting pre to keep the fish in, planning to lead alot of flops. We can get lots of value from the fish, without worrying too much about the reg who should be playing pretty honest against our lead.

Prolly folding turn, he has a ton of 4x in his range that feel they need to get it in asap because "omg three players and there's a flush draw AND a straight draw now!".

I would agree about flatting hands like KK/AA some of the time, to keep the fish in.

TT just feels waaay too vulnerable to me, to be flatting and going 3-way OOP.

Halv all this goes out the window when you see that the fish isn't passive postflop. Also the button is an unknown, we don't know anything about his tendencies. Besides, if the button is a reg I certainly don't think we can expect him to just let us take the pot uncontested if the fish folds to your lead. I know I certainly wouldn't.

Absolutely. We'll be put in very tough RIO spots vs these opponents who might be hard read with limited info. We'll also often not be able to win the pot with the best hand if the flop isn't favorable.

I'm flatting pre, the value of keeping the fish in is pretty big. We can lead good flops for us and expect our standard opponents here to just play face-up, and get value from the fish.

Also I'm not comfortable getting this in nor folding it if BTN 4bets here. Sure a case can be made that BTN isn't good enough to have a 4b bluffing range in this spot, but he's unknown so its tough if he does.

I just think flatting makes us do less mistakes while keeping the fish in which is huuuge.

yah I don't really understand the need to 3b here pf... wouldn't I be isolating the unknown here? it would put the fish at a difficult spot and hes who I want to see pots with...

I guess with TT here I can't expect to get huge value on all boards.and I would think even less so in a 3b pot. but this hand is too strong to turn into a bluff right? but just strong enough to get to showdown?

however I did flop pretty well i thought


thoughts on my analysis? want to make sure I'm taking the right approach to these things

Yeah I agree that if we flat pre we're expecting the fish to go wild with top pair or some stupid bluff so folding the turn isn't even remotely consistent with our plan.

Nothing wrong with leading the flop either if our plan is to stack off against the fish.

i would medium-strongly dislike playing it any other way
