I saw something about this a couple years ago. Turned out they had been known since the early 1900s. They just set this up as a way to try to save the forests or something like that. Can't find the link now.

Looks like a good place for cell tower and toxic waste dump.

Yeah, "uncontacted tribe" isn't exactly uncontacted. I'm pretty sure we have known about every tribe out there for some time now, but "uncontacted" is used to describe how much we know about them or how much contact we have with them

One tribe I've read about called the Sentinelese loves to throw their spears at anything that moves. So we don't know much about them. There has been some level of contact, but extremely small
