I get this with ff too, but I think clearing cache fixes it short term.
Hey degens, our genius guy thinks he fixed this, can yal let us know if it's working as it should now? If at first it doesn't, please try clearing your cache. You shouldn't have to clear your cache more than once though, once you do it this should work forever now. At least we hope.

FWIW, I just got hit with this bug. Your programmer did something backwards.
When I click on posts since last visit, I used to see all the posts that I never clicked on, like the limit forum or the werewolf threads and they would even show under posts from a previous visit. Now when I come home and click on FTR's posts since last visit I'm only getting posts since my last visit. I can no longer see old posts I never clicked on. It's cool that they aren't there, but I worry about which posts may be disappearing and if I am missing some, depending on when it's cutting off the new posts. It's also how I spot spam in forums I never frequent.
It's also no longer deleting them after I open them, they still show, but the font changes to italic and the red "go to first new post" arrow and page are gone[IMG]http://img825.imageshack.us/img825/6066/ftrt.png Uploaded with ImageShack.us[/IMG]

Also, the forum seems to recognise my own posts as new unread posts. So for example, I go onto the main forum page, see the coloured spade on werewolf village subforum, click on the thread title on the right if the page, read the latest werewolf thread,.post something myself in there, come back to the main forum page and the werewolf village spade is all lit up like there's a new post, but I'm the last poster. So I get excited thinking someone may have posted in the dead thread and open up the sub forum. But find no new posts :-(
I noticed this too, and I HATE it. I don't always have time to read everything that's new when I go to the forum, so I read it later when I have more time. But now the new posts disappear and I can't tell what I've read and haven't read. This is really tilting me. Please change it back to the way it was, I'll suffer with the old problem because this is way worse :(Quote:

We've told them to change it back asap. It was a fix suggested on the vBSEO forum. Obvs didn't work though.

Okay, back a couple hours later here and the site looks to be lit up with new posts again.
Edit: on further inspection, none of the posts marked as new are actually new.
Ya I'm happy now. There was a few marked as unread when they were, but we will see if that isn't just a glitch of going back to an old setting in the backups
No matter what I do, werewolf village sub forum always has unread posts yet doesn't.
Also, I believe a firing is in order for this to happen during a werewolf game.

Our programmer is looking into the code. He's tried all the fixes as suggested on vbseo forum, but none have worked so far. Just to get this straight, before this whole mess started, was it working fine except for in firefox?
I can vouch for firefox not working properly for a long time but nothing more.
I was only using Firefox so I don't know about other browsers

Using "view new posts" now brings about a Database Error. I'm sure/hope this is because you're working on the problem though. Just wanted y'all to know.
Huh, that's weird. After all those database errors and the site going down, the Go To First New Post worked for the first time ever for me. Forum is going painfully slow right now though.
