I went back to look at a hand where I got it in AA vs. 66 I plugged this into an odds calc. and got roughly 80 % to 20 %. Then I plugged in KK Vs. AA . It seems 66 has better odds against AA than KK does pre? How is this? I thought about it in terms of flushes and straights. Does it have to do with AA having a higher straight than KK and 66 having a higher low straight than AA? I am confused any help would be appreciated.
Well the a is required for some of the straights which means you're less likely to hit them and if you do aa may hit a boat and also kk is at the end so can be in straights anywhere between A-9 where as 6 can be anywhere from 2-10. Plus if you set it means there is def a card that helps a hit straits.
Really, just think about all the different 5 community card combinations. Those that help kk beat aa are fewer than those that help 66 beat aa for the above reasons.
I thought only breakeven 2p2ers and spoonitnow worried over 1% equity advantages. ;)
Seems like you could be doing better things with your session review time than analyzing AA vs 66. Look at hands that had difficult decisions or download pokerstove and run possible ranges vs your hands and see if you made correct decisions based on equity. I mean, who cares how much AA is favored pre vs KK, 66 or 72o? It's not like we're ever folding it pre. Right?
the minuscule equity differences will come from AA blocking a bunch of KK's 4 card straights, some of KK's set outs will help make AA a straight, and if you weren't paying attention to suits when you punched stuff into stove, you could affect equity also. AhAd vs 6h6d compared to AhAd vs 6s6c due to the lack of 4card flush equity being blocked in the former example etc etc etc but as other stated, this is purely academic and shouldn't have any impact on your play so don't worry about it.Quote:

If you're really curious enough to look into such differences, you may find it interesting to check how hands like small suited connectors fare vs AA.
