For those who have questions, comments, feedback or whatever on the new ad that appears on the top of the forum, let me know.
Right now, you can click the X to hide and not be bothered (while logged in). But if people have problems with this (as in it's not hiding correctly) we can look into that.
It's not closing for me today.
By not closing do you mean it stays there and reloads every time you hit the X? Or something else? Was it closing/hiding before? Operating System? Browser? What happens when you press X? Does it close and then re-appear?
Hiding the banner is based on cookies, so if you have those disabled, that could be why.
Ad has been adjusted so it is only visible for guests.
I could still see it when I logged in but this time it closed. Using OSX 10.7.4 and Firefox.
Yeah I was too lazy to post (sorry) but the first banner between top nav and forum I could click away with the "Close(X)" button, but the second banner that appeared where the normal top nav banner is, did not respond to the [X]. Also on OS x 10.7 but using Chrome.
The one on the HP just closed fine for me though, so who knows.

it must be caught in your cache or cookies or something because the code has been completely removed from the site.

do you mean the large banner on top of everything, or the featured advertisement within the forum? both?
i'm really confused here because i literally removed the code from both the navigation and forum. so i have no idea how you could still be seeing it?
I mean that new ad that's advertising William Hill currently. New thing with it now though; it's no longer showing up in the forums that I closed it in, but shows up in ones I haven't yet. So if I go to some where that I never go like Tournament Poker (because only losers go there amirite???) it will show up even though I closed it while in the Community.
Dunno if that's intended though.
