2nt Hand of the session vs 35/12 (26 hand sample)

This was the second hand of my session with a villian i only had 28 hands on previously. Not sure what i should do in this spot?

When i played it i figured if i spiked the flush on the turn i could get stacks in. Turn came and i picked up a straight draw ontop of my flush draw which would've still had the trips beat. I figured i'd check and call him down light with his trips. When i hit the straight i was happy with it (having put him on 3 J's).

Looking back at it now i know i prob. should've lead out on each street and got out of the way but i felt like i had too many outs to get away from it at the time.

I probably didn't give him a wide enough range but I don't have us better than 25% otf but like 57% on the river.

Yeah, I think I'm really wrong about the turn. Flop I dunno, seems like we're way behind. His range is wider than trips so I don't think we can count so much on implied odds.

Thinking about this more his shoving range has us crushed. More combos of boats than Jx and we have blockers to some missed FDs.

You're ignoring fold equity on the flop supa. This is a limped pot and we're first to act. Just bet flop and if you're called you have some equity to go on with.

Yep, not only was I ignoring FE I was ignoring that we were first act. This is why I don't play poker after work anymore. Brain dead.

I'd lead flop all the time here,
turn as played just call, though would it be terrible to check/raise fold to 3bet?
on river check call, as I think he is betting his whole range here, full houses and trips. As played I'd call river because QJ, AJ, JT i think is still shipping here.

Some thoughts:
If the OP contains analysis, or if the OP is posted by someone who frequently gives reasons in their responses to other threads, then I agree.
