i would check the turn planning to value bet the river. as played, i'd C/F the river i think

Jesus I hope you made a note on this muppet. Don't post reults. Try to play as many hands in position vs this guy as possible. Value bet him to hell. Don't bluff vs him. Not sure how I play this river spot in future vs him, I mean if he's calling 7high on flop, he's probably calling dominated aces for stacks. Probably need to stove all Axs combos vs our AQ to see if getting it in on river is good. It's probably close, I dunno. Without knowing how bad he is, I'd probably c/f this river too, but seeing what he called flop with might be worth more than what you lost on river, so make the note and don't worry about it. You will encounter many brutal beats like this in your poker journey, because there's a lot of fucking idiots out there. That's not a bad thing.

I think the river is a bit thin. You really only beat AJ after that runout, and even AJ might not call a jam here. Some ppl also flat AK vs UTG openers.

If the turn and river were lower cards I might feel more compelled to jam.

agree with griff, against most this is a c/f, against fish though it's a value jam, even on this run out although it's incredibly thin and I'd have to run some pokerstove ranges to even see if it's a value shove after the 9 and T roll off. On better runouts it's a clear jam against looser players and probably a c/f against a nit.

important to note that with the Ad on board backdoor flushes are a very small part of his range, as you'd generally imagine (results notwithstanding) it would have to be like 45dd or 8Xdd which typically aren't part of a tighter players calling range PF vs. and EP open.

I bet $2.4 on the flop, jack it up a bit to protect your strong hand. Check turn for pot control. But generally, value betting all the way through seems fine if you get paid off enough on zoom (I don't play it), bad luck he runner-runnered you.

@ the bold. i think this is a pretty reasonable hand to float with if villain thinks hero's range is somewhat weak, which it probably is (note this is probably one of the most C-bettable boards ever for a reg in position heads up on the flop). i'd probably call the turn too given we have 15 outs all of which draw to a hand hero will have a very hard time putting us on

The ten is a pretty shitty river for you. Bet/bet seems fine but c/f river: there's nothing worse that calls or bets when checked to and you can consequently fold and feel pretty good about it.

AQ isn't a shit hand, it can just be shit in certain spots

x/f river. You're only beating AJ here. Make sure you make a note that the villain floated 76s on an A82r board and that we could probably double barrel him more liberally.

Really? Floating 7 high vs an utg raise and cbet on a Axx flop? I can't see it myself, not unless hero has crazy utg stats, or villain has reason to think hero can be pushed off top pair on later streets. I suppose villain has every right to think that hero c/f TT-KK on most turns, so I can see some value in floating. But I'd want to know what sort of range villain expects hero to have in this spot. We're 6max, so there's tons of Ax in hero's range, as well as the obvious AQ+ and AA. It's a ballsy float from my pov. But maybe I'm missing a lot of good floating spots.

meh, it's probably spew. i guess i just thought hero will CB 100% and will have connected far less than 100%. so villain should definitely be calling with more than just Ax. but yeah 8x or KQ w/BDFD would be better floats.

edit: i was focussing more on hero's hand being one of the few in his range which flops both BDFD and a 3-straight, so we can float and pick up equity (against what we assume is a weakish range) on 1/4 or more of turns.

I'd probably like villain's float more if he raises turn. This puts a lot of pressure on hero's Ax hands, looks a lot like a set, and he should have the required pot odds to call it off when he faces a shove.
