Strange things have been happening in this place at night..........

First SDM was found dead on the village green after being run over with a lawnmower. Then gmml had his leg ripped off and was bludgeoned to death with it. Finally last night old man Warpe had his zimmerframe stolen along with his face.

Speculation about the killer abounds. Was it ISIS? The Illuminati? Aliens? Gary Busey!?!?!?!?

The huge paw marks and clumps of fur found near the victims points to something much more sinister.

WOLVES!

Nobody new comes here and the village quickly realizes that the wolves are already among them. The phones and internet are down and it doesn't take a genius to grasp that the shit has hit the fan.

Everyone has gathered at dhuber's house. For some reason people like to complain to him when things go wrong, almost like he's in charge or something.

wuf is telling anyone who'll listen why Obama should get a third term.

Luco is busy growing his pornstache for Movember.

Keith is fondly remembering that time he was right, you know, EVERY TIME!

BID is playing gabe HU for matchsticks. gabe currently owes 984 sticks because drew is unfathomable.

Ong is putting together his business plan for growing weed. Hopefully Her Majesty the Queen will give it the nod, and then Robert's your mother's brother.

Speaking of mothers, baudib can't stop raving about this new lady he's been seeing. Apparently she has charm, wit, sophistication and a non existent gag reflex.

JKDS is wearing his Micky Mouse jimmies and won't shut up about the great rides.

daven is climbing on the roof, later he's going fishing in the bath.

bigred is scared that he's run out of lolcats, and loldogs just don't give him that same rush. Keybored is saying "Listen kid, back in the day we didn't have memes, or computers, or desks, or clean water, or atheists. Son, we considered ourselves lucky if our father came home and ONLY thrashed us with rusty chains."

MMM is working on his theory of everything, that revenge lynch variable just won't cancel though.

aubrey missed her flight to Santa Fe, so best stay out her way, because she be mad today.

monstrman is eating a big spam sandwich.

rong is considering pawning his wife's wedding ring for capital because he's got a matched betting system that can't fail. Place your bets on how she'll react!

Wuf seems to be wuggin', but not sure if wolfin'. That response to a (I thought) obv. troll question about dhubs was sexy in a way that makes me want to do dirty things to it and then never think of it again.

Also I have played 9 games with Monstr, 7 of then long games is it's a lot different than someone who's a total noob.

Incidentally Monstr has a better feel for my meta than any of you.

Early reads although there's nothing significant to go on is MMM & wuf could be wolves. The "yet another" citing is not feasible. I was Vanilla last match. I was Wolf my first match. The "yet another" is accurate. wuf's Post #25 is relevant, but a good hide for potential Wolf as well.

MMM tagging-along in Post #26 makes me suspicious that they've already communicated in the Den. He also made reference to wuf in Post #23, although he referenced several players. I'm curious of the bolding of two players to lynch so early before they've had an opportunity to post (we all knew it wouldn't take long for baudib to chime in though).

Post #18 by Keybored comes off as super-Villagery in my opinion. With that said, I was supremely duped last game at one point thanks to rilla's spanking of Keybored. No reads on anyone else yet and obviously the reads I have aren't worthy of any bolding at this time.

being a quitter is one thing , but encouraging bigred to post lolcats is a step too far. Also wtf with MMM posting the same minute that hoopy posted OP. Over eager wolf excited over his role PM .

Miller - When looked up by the seer the miller appears to be a wolf.

Tough Guy - If attacked by the wolves at night instead of dying straight away the tough guy will stay alive for 36 hours the next day, essentially functioning as a confirmed villager.

Why? This is a question that most villagers would phrase in a pm, whereas wolves tend to post it to appear helpful. Wolves are the people that need this information the most though.

The only thing from MMM that's consistent and could lean Villager is Post #14. He used an uncommon emoticon last match right after JKDS psych-arooo'ed as a ghost. Everything else from MMM is wolfy or confusing.

Ong already realized how wolfy his Post #33 comes across as (see Post #35). He had an obvious wolf post last match during that same JKDS ghost-exchange, but then I agree with his Post #37... seems as good a strategy as any at this point. I have no read from JKDS' Post #44 non-wolf claim. There were times he seemed wolfy last match and flipped Villager.

I agree with both JKDS and wuf in their latest exchange. There is a definite "Wolf trying to come off as helpful" aspect to the request of role explanation by wuf. FWIW, I was also looking for a further explanation of those two roles but decided not to post a request because I didn't want to appear to be aroooo-ing. Just some food for thought since I know I'm Vanilla.

On the other hand, I agree with wuf that it is thread info and is appropriate here.

I also think MMM, if Wolf, would have likely consulted the Den thread before insta-posting if baudib was one of his companions. Therefore I believe baudib is Village if MMM flips Wolf.

Welcome to the game monstrman. I hope you don't have any plans irl this week because this game can be consuming but very enjoyable :)

I too, noticed the MMM 180 on attitude towards the game. This coupled with his desire to ragequit makes him my fav lynch target right now.

I too, agree with some folks about dhuber and his initial appearance as a villager, again, and again. Pretty annoying with the villager talk by him every game but at least he's consistent. The problem with this is that it's such a massive thing to have if he flipped wolf.

For this reason, I strongly suggest a dhuber lookup by the seer.

This game is complicated and deserves to be understood complexly, but if you don't make it fun, you wont have fun.

My "village daddy" style is tedious and no one was engaging me on my ideas or being swayed by my arguments. Which means I wasted my effort. Another lesson learned.

I agree with the purported analysis that wolfs like to ask about game mechanics in thread. It looks like they're trying to solve the game, but really they're just not hunting. Furthermore... I queried the mechanics of the tough guy in the sign up thread, which I'm fairly sure wuf has read... so I find his questions to be wholly disingenuous.

Is the tough guy a villager? I thought that was a wolf role but colours in mods post make it look like a villager role. This may have been answered already, I'm on post 6 or something.

Don't worry I've played a great deal of games in my time so I am by no means inexperienced, I was merely commenting that I don't have any experience playing with any of you guys specifically and many of my reads are derived from tells that I have accumulated from various little posts and consistencies that I find while playing with people throughout the course of many games.

For example, my meta on Baudib is thus:

Baudib is a very spazzy villager and a wolf with a very wide range, but I find that he has one major difference between his games.

During a game where I was a villager and he was a wolf, I noted that he was pretty much tunneling me all game with no inclination of changing his read in any direction. The highest I ever got was null to him, despite that I kept engaging him and telling him to elaborate/change his read of me. The biggest notable thing here was that he seemed content to keep me in his wolf leans but not actually pressure me or convince anyone else to lynch me whatsoever.

This brings me to his villager game where I was a villager and so was he

He was reading another player that was in the game as a wolf and no matter what anyone said every post was met with "You are a wolf and you should get lynched" or "this is wolfy pls die." He tried as hard as he could to convince every player in the game that the person he was reading as a wolf was actually a wolf because that is how much he believed it.

That's not to say this is the complete assessment of his entire range, but I think that is one of the key differences between his games that I have used to accurately assess his alignment in several games, though I will say that while I can use meta to assist in my reads of players, a large majority of how I play is actually based on pure instinct.

The reason I invited Monstrman here is I've played about 9 games with him and I can't imagine playing werewolf without him. He is the rock upon which I build my village. He's not a village captain as much as he is the soul of the village. He's not the greatest wolf hunter but I rely on his reading of "threadflow" (it's a real thing IMO) to get a sense of where we are going astray and he has an uncanny ability to assess wagons as V-V or V-W.

Monstr has a tendency to overclear; he's likely to call 14 people here villagers on D1. But a lot of that is based on meta and he's adjusted recently to take more aggressive stances and YOLO more often (with good results).

Typically I tinfoil on him early but he clears himself pretty quickly and is, by his account, a terrible wolf. (I've never seen him wolf, and he apparently has randed wolf only ~ 10% of the time over the course of ~100 games)

I'm sure you guys will like him.

Dhub does Seem Villagery. Or at least he comes accoss very level 0, which is hard to do for a lot of people, yet easy for others.

What do you mean "comes across as level 0"?

Monstr: There are some key differences in the games here that you need to know about.

First off, the days are obviously much longer than Tom's V+ games. Sometimes the threads get locked at night (which can last as long as 24 hours) but of late, we've been keeping the thread open.

Second, the thread is a lot less active. Even with longer days, we'll be lucky to get 1/10th the posts of a typical POG game. Even so, I think the average player here is more skilled and thoughtful than the average POGGER, just as the average poker player here is better than the average 2+2er, even though we get a fraction of the traffic.

Tie votes are not randed; if it's 6-6 at EOD, the first player to get 6 votes get lynched. There's a lot of vote movement early in the day but typically votes get locked in fairly early. You don't see the mad rush of activity near EOD and CFDs basically never happen -- if you show up 10 minutes before EOD you can expect to be the only person around.
