What's a good hand range to re-steal from BB?

Haven't really seen this information too far, currently I probably 3bet too little as I find people often do seem to call 3bets very wide at 25nl and 50nl.

August was one of the worst months I've ever had in poker, in that I lost $500 despite generating +$200 in EV.

A portion of that was lost due to me running bad due to tilt.

I think I'm probably not 3betting, let alone 4betting enough, but part of that was due to that shocking day where I lost $700 in 24 hours, and it was all on hands in 4bet+ pots that I had AK or QQ. I started tightening up my 4bet/5bet ranges in the blinds and on the button since that day.


Leakbuster says one of my leaks is I don't re-steal from the BB enough (ironically leakbuster also says one of my leaks is I had been 3 betting high suited connectors too much which was one of the types of hands I use to re-steal with), and these days I'm basically only doing it with premium hands anyways. For example, while I'm typing this up, I 3bet something like AQo from the SB, BB called, BTN called, I flop air on a monotone board and it checks down, and the cold caller has 78s, and the BTN has A5s.

I think I'm losing too much money in the blinds atm.

BTN I'm making heaps of money.

So basically what I'm asking is, say at one table the guy trying to steal my BB is in either SB or BTN, one table I have a 17/10 to my right, and the other table I have a 43/35 to my right. What do you think is a good 3bet re-stealing range for these 2 player types when playing the big blind?

One last question that's off topic from the thread title.

I've recently added WTSD stat in my HUD. I think it's potentially very useful information to know about the player types at the table, but how can I properly utilize this information, on player types and WTSD stats?

Say an 80/50 has a WTSD of 33% and a 17/10 has a WTSD of 15% or something?

BTW if anyone wants to go over my hand history, or leakbuster stats to give me some new ideas in the game, I'd pay for your time and effort to improve my gameplay in poker. Right now my "friend" who I've probably mentioned far too much on this forum charges $100 an hour, which is a very steep price for someone who's back to grinding 25nl, need someones coaching fees to be more inline with a micro-stakes player instead of a low or mid-stakes player.

Start posting specific hands.

The biggest answer to this specific post is "it depends." It depends what the player's steal percentage is, it depends what the player's fold to a 3-bet is, it depends what your image is, etc.

I mean a 43/35 who is stealing your blinds, then you should be 3-betting for value with top 10 % of hands (77+, AJo+, suited broadways). If he is calling 3-bets wide then you can and should increase your vpip by calling out of the blinds with a bunch more hands (any suited A, any pair, lots of suited connectors and good suited Ks and Qs) as well.

A 17/10 you can actually start 3-bet bluffing sometimes as presumably your stats are pretty conservative so he should be folding quite a bit preflop. If the stealer flats, then remember that you don't have to continue a 3-bet bluff post-flop.

The more specific hands you post with villain's stats, the better responses you should get.

I agree with Chardrian there are waaaay too many variables at play here.

Do they raise btn wide - cb flop wide and give up? Then you can flat flops, and bet rivers when turns check through.
Do they raise btn wide - cb flops wide and fold to raises too often? Then you can call pre and raise flops.
Do they raise btn wide - fold to 3b too often? 3b more - probably polarized range.
Do they raise btn wide - call 3b wide, fold flops? Then 3b more and cb more... etc etc... so many scenarios with different aspects of their game you can exploit.

As for WTSD - I think you should also look at won at SD. If they have high WTSD and low Won at SD - then they are either a fishy station (calling often and losing) or they are an aggro bluffer (bluffing often and when called losing). I suppose a bluffer could also have a low WTSD and low won at SD.
