Squeeze up on that 1on1

THis is the end of one of last night's SnG, when it got down to head-to-head

I'm going to print this out and study it myself, but I wanted to offer it up to you.

My initial thought it I am happy with my preformance. This guy was loose, going all in on a lot of things (mostly played his hands pre-flop). I adjusted to play against Rippy-style and I took him down. (though it looked like he was just getting tired at the end, and he gave up)

OK, I've had time to look at this. I don't really see any big mistakes I made, but there are some hands to comment.

#6, He had a big raise, should I have at least seen the flop? I had a Q, was that too tight?

#8 I checked after the flop in last position. I missed an opportunity to bet. I should have stabbed earlier (after the flop rather than after the turn) I gave him a free card when all I had was a high card.

#9 Ignore this hand. Poker Stars gave me my hand history first hand last / last hand first, so I copied and pasted it here bit by bit. I accidently pasted the same hand 2X. :oops:

#18 I was proud of this. I called his stab out. Thanks Rippy. "When the Ace comes out, BET!"

Overall. This was one of the longest endings to a SnG I've ever had. This guy went all-in preflop on 8 of the last 11 hands. It looks like he just gave up. But I'll take a win no matter how it's given to me. And I have to admit, I looked to see what 2nd place paid to determine if I was ready to give up.

He showed alot of aggression, and I had to tighten up some to get him. I lashed out with more aggression than I would show in a 10 person game (or even a 3 person game) but I wasn't overly aggressive. This could have turned into a 'whose balls are bigger' game and it didn't.

After reviewing, I'm still happy with my performance. I'd love to hear another opinion.

I noticed that you often like to raise marginal hands in the BB when the SB just calls you heads up. I personally am happy to just check in those situations since I have position after the flop, and can often steal a pot via position.

I'm sure many others play their BB vs. a call in the SB the same as you, and I noticed that pretty much every time you raised your BB vs. a SB call, they folded.

I'm curious to hear how others handle these same situations.

Wow, this guy was on a death wish. I liked hand 34, that's exactly how I like deal with these guys. Only criticism is that this guy is a horrible post-flop player and really loose-aggressive pre-flop (even for heads up.) I'd dial down my pre-flop action to value betting, conceade small pots (the blinds are still small enough) and nail him hard when he runs into a hand until he catches onto what you're doing. Then gear back up.

I agree with ripptyde and fnord for the most part.
But considering the size of the blinds, you could have called a lot more min raises (im speaking of the earlier part of the heads up match).

#2 maybe worth trying to see a flop.

#10 you gotta try and play the "Ripptyde special" because that one time it hits, you'll probably take someone out.

#20 I dont know if i would have played this because A6 has less outs than A5 or something like that.

Other than those I think you played extremely well given your opponents hyper-aggresive tendencies.

He/She seemed to prefer pushing the entire stack in rather than raising, I've encountered this before and it only takes one good hand to put them in their place.
