As of May 15,2004 there were only 116 registered users, did you get a huge hit from another web-site or something ?

The only explanation I can offer is that we had a surge of Google spiders crawling us that day. We don't really know.
If you did some kind of global update to the database it would have changed the "last visit" time of all the users, which is most likely the cause of what you're seeing.
