Ok, so my boy ben here may have the IQ of a rock with down syndrome, but I may too. I have heard people say bet your outs, and others say get them cheap. In this situation I do belive it was proper to play check mate with each other until the river gave me the nuts.If I would have bet he may have folded, or not, dem fish loooove gut shot straight draws, but I am guessing he would have. I mean perhaps he thought I had 2 pair or trips when I pushed... It is hard for me to see that a player has a higher straight than me when there are four to a straight out on the board. And all in bet did make ben suspicious, called with 2sec left on timer. Especially when the cards are that low(easier seeing it with that mofo who raises 2 dollars like he always does with AK and the flop coming 10 J Q, and he pushes in and decimates my three 10s  hah well I guess it is not easy...) Well enough with the rambling. Bet your draws or get em cheap?
Thank You

Well played.
Get 'em cheap. It's more profitable than semi-bluffing when playing against passive calling stations.
I used to make the mistake of turning good implied odds into marginal effective odds a lot...
-
Depends on how many outs I have, If I have just an open ended straight draw I say get it cheap. If I am opened ended and a flush draw then I bet it. It also depends on my opponent and what I know he's likely to do.
-
Getting it cheap is great as long as you aren't losing out on bet odds or reducing your chances of a successful bluff if someone is on a draw with bottom pair (if you intend to bluff that is).
You must have smiled from ear to ear when he went all in :D

Yes I did smile
I haven't felt that good since I did all of you mothers!
Thank you for the replies, your advice is appreciated.

I prefer getting cards for free however a few reasons you might bet:
- Sometimes a medicore lead bet sets the tone and discourages some maniac to over bet the pot requiring you to fold b/c of pot odds.
- If in position (helps with min bets in front of you). It might be good to bet or raise. Gets money in the pot (you have pot odds already) and probably buys you a free card.
