Is he trying to buy it?
More wild adventures from Party 6-Max NL.. MP is loose and has bought a couple of pots, but does not seem overly agressive.

Hero ($88.85)
SB ($12.7)
BB ($55.4)
UTG ($103.8)
Preflop: Hero is Button with J:club:, T:club:. SB posts a blind of $0.5.
UTG calls $1, MP calls $1, Hero calls $1, SB (poster) completes, BB checks.
Flop: ($5) 3:club:, J:diamond:, T:spade: (5 players)
SB bets $2, BB raises to $6, UTG folds, MP calls $6, Hero raises to $10, SB folds, BB folds, MP calls $4.
Turn: ($33) A:spade: (2 players)
MP bets $7, Hero raises to $20, MP calls $13.
River: ($73) 3:diamond: (2 players)
MP bets $55, Hero ???

His two pair A and threes are the best hand in his opinion....and he probably has a decent kicker for the 5th card...I say you lay it down
-
I put him on a high pocket pair or strong jack, because of his raise on the flop. I'd lay it down, because your kicker sucks and an Ace or overpair beats you. A shame your two pair went to shit on the river.
I also believe QK is a real possibility...
LAy it down, too many hands beat you.
There is a remote chance he has a three, in which case you kick him in the nuts.

I called.
He had :Qh::9d:. Yup, he bet the farm on a busted straight draw.
I won a friggin huge pot.
I am becoming very very confused about when to hold 'em and when to fold 'em in 6-max NL.

Nice call...
He woulda beat me.
-
Would have beat me too. I hope you made copious notes on that guy and his misguided aggression.
