How long can a winning streak last?

Well It started last Saturday, I had about $130 bankroll. Playing the $0.10-$0.25 blinds on Ultimate bet. This Saturday my bankroll is up to $530 and I have won every single time I've sat down at a table. I'm playing at the .25-.50 tables now and still winning. Overall I have probably played about 20 sessions averaging 100 hands each, and doubled up 12-13 times. The rest I came out ahead by at least a little.

My question is how long can this last? I know I am better than average at these stakes but is it really possible to win almost every time you sit down?

there is no outside force or reason you're winning this much, it just happens to some people. Learn to differentiate a "lucky" session, to a skillfully played one.

It is a statistical certainty that you will lose at some point, and possibly a lot of money, so don't be surprised when it comes.

Hopefully, forever. Enjoy it while it lasts.
Extended downswings are considerably less enjoyable.

Just remember: when your downswing comes, do not blow all your hard earned money! when things are tough, you realize that even that 20 bucks you blew when you were tilting takes some significant time to recover.

Yea, I know when I won because I got lucky and when I played dumb. But I have only had one pot over $30 that I should've lost, and I won (I had KK vs. AA caught a K on turn). I have also only had one pot over $30 that I shouldve won but didnt (AI after turn he hit flush on river)

I just cant tell If i'm getting lucky by not getting any second best hands that commit me to the pot. Or if I am laying them down correctly and the fish are calling me with them.

i was thinking the same thing you were recently: the first two weeks of march i was up over $1500 net on the same $50NL tables at UB. i was on fire and ready to quit my job. then over the last two weeks of march I dropped $1200. the streak will last longer than it should, and it'll come back the other way with a vengeance!

winning poker isn't just winning poker; it's minimizing losses during losing poker, too.

Well that was after winning $700 from a $5 buy in tourney. If I went broke I was going to deposit $100 more and take advangtage of some bonuses. But looking back I was lucky to not go broke. It seems like I hit a big winning streak whenever I move up blinds. I went to $50 NL with a BR of 400 and got to 750.

** Sidenote, the winning streak ended the day after I posted this but I've managed to almost get back to where I was when I wrote this**

A winning streak can last forever, but it's infinitely unlikely.
