So, I'm going to be in Italy for two weeks in June. Are there any players in/near Italy (Rome, to be specific) who'd like to get together for a game? I'm thinking 1/2 NL Hold 'Em, but I could maybe be talked into other games (similar stakes).

The only europeans i've noticed are from the north, ie UK, Sweden, Finland. Anyone from the south? That reminds me, i'll be in prague June 19th-24th, wonder if they have any casinos?

English is widely learned and practiced, but am I correct in my impression that Northern Europeans are even more widely fluent in English? (Dutch, Dane, Swede, Norse, Finn, Belgian, Scot [jk]) I got the impression that trade and travel and media footprint with Great Britian had more of an impact there than on the South (Italy, France, Austria, Spain, Greece, Turkey.) Is that true?
Scandinavians and the Dutch all rock at english.
Some nations, esecially france are under the misguided impression their language should be preserved and english is discouraged, they have laws about how much english is allowed to be broadcast and make people like microsoft change the names of all the directories into french(ie program files is le file de programmes or whatever)
