Sounds like he adjusted to your super aggro quite well. If you bet too much and too many chips, eventually he's going to hang you. Plus, he loose calls might lead you to tilt/bet bigger on later...
HA HA! Found it via the search.
I can't find the tourney in the lobby. Did the title change?
you might have to fold and observe proof that a big bet like this could be a bluff. I've seen donks go both ways on this play...sometimes having it, or having Kx.
Probably deserve the kick in the nuts. Hoping to catch his AA on a slowplay, he had been a passive caller...but point taken. In the middle of a BAD downswing after crushing 25NL for several months...
Ok, so you can probably guess what happened here, but tell me what your hand range is...
1) Opp is 16/3/1.5 through 55 hands, hasn't done anything noteworthy to this point...

Well, as a update, the downswing continues. I'm now down 230 big bets since I posted my results on 10/29 (5k hands). I'm clearly coming off the hot streak I had at the end of the graph above. ...
Blasted stars...they always seem to have the set.
Admittedly, I'm not sure this play is in my bag at $25NL. But I like it where people can fold more often.
without a read that he pf re-raises light or bets hard into draws this is a fold.
Assuming you got out drawn rather than outflopped, and that villian hit two pr/str8 since no river raise?
Either way, the flop bet here is pretty standard, unless villian is proven bluffer in...
Not to be superstitious, but I should have known this post would haunt me.
I just finished a brutal 6 buy-in downswing session over 1500 hands. Absolutely, the worst session I've ever...
vnh...can I ask which site these sessions were at?

- Between 16-20k is where I made the transition from 10nl to 25nl.

I'm a come-and-go veteran of FTR, and I recently hit a good milestone in my "$50 -> $5,000" operation which I wanted to share with the group.
Prior the US poker "bust" last year, I was a solid...
psychology is a total money maker for live games, particualry if you are new to reading people.
Your might want to get better at laying down top pair, rather than just "getting even" with sets yourself. As a general rule however, you shouldn't call a bet/raise looking to hit a set unless the...
To follow up, I understand now that the statement was contradictory. Sorry for this weak question!
At the time of the post, I was feeling some frustration due to picking bad spots and general...
Evaluate this statement and provide situational context:
I see very little reason to make big bluffs or push thin edges (e.g., semi-bluff) at 25NL, because (1) too many players can't lay down a...
This is a hand where PT pays for itself.
This is correct. Don't feel bad. One time, I had a guy try to eliminate me because I didn't have enough to meet the BB, and I still had 4 players left until the blind hit me. He tried to shove my...
For me it's the reverse. I visit several tough home games (maybe stupid, but they're great games). Much tougher than Vegas. I grind online to pay for my live games.
Great balance to this discussion about maths. Ciaffone is awesome. He's NL/PL HE book was one of the first poker books I really enjoyed.
