Default 100NL: middle pair against aggro station

    $0.5/$1 No Limit Holdem
    4 players
    Converted at weaktight.com

    Stacks:
    Hero ($113.35)
    BTN ($231.15)
    SB ($106.45)
    BB ($38.40)

    Pre-flop: ($1.50, 4 players) Hero is CO
Hero raises to $4, 2 folds, BB calls $3

    Flop: ($8.50, 2 players)
BB checks, Hero bets $6, BB raises to $16, [color=#cc0000]
    Hero ???

    villain was running like 30/5/4.
    I C-bet here as I believe this guy could call with a 9 or 8 or FD/OESD
He could well have the K, but we are getting 1.8-1 if we push (as I don't think villain would fold to an all-in), call or fold?

I shoved and villain called with KTo.
I played this badly, and I agree with Deanglow, if I was going to shove (for value), I should have checked the flop to induce.

    Not Giving In
I agree with his stack size = shove. I also don't think that you should check behind "to induce", Jimmy. If you want to get it in for value, I'd just do it now while he has a large calling range and there are some bad turn cards in which you can be getting your money in with almost no equity.

    WTF????

Hand is fine, he caught good and the money was too short to fold without a better read that he won't non-shove-raise without top pair or better.

Checking is stupid. You could sell me on bet/fold.

Why is it stupid? Villain would not fold a draw here if we bet. Why don't we let him spew?
