    easy call on turn.

Yes he has a set sometimes, but a draw just as often or some other weird holding.

What was your plan on the flop minraise?

why did you minraise the flop instead of committing?
My bankroll is the amount of money I would spend or lose before I got a job. It is calculated by adding my net worth to whatever I can borrow.

Yes agreed with nuts and will. Why raise the flop at all if you then contemplate folding the turn when your hand improves. Given that it's a relative blank for villain.

    dunno really - I haven't played:
    1) 100nl before
    2) shortstacked in like forever
    3) shorthanded during the last 100k-ish hands - except for when it happens briefly as players leave my standard fullring stomping grounds

but I did want to keep opp in the pot, as played i thought the turn was an easy call - and i scooped.
I just wanted to check vs your thoughts - thanks all!

If you are beating 50nl over a decent sample I see no reason to shortstack when you move up. Just play your normal 100bb game and you'll be fine. If your playing scared money you won't play well even if your only playing with 50bb.

    good point! and thanks.

I'm contemplating moving up, at the moment i'm toying with the idea of running through a quick 100 or so hands at 100nl at the end of sessions. This is to get used to the betsizes, it took me a while to get used to that even at 50nl, the first time it felt like the money at stake wasn't just conceptual blinds.

Further thought and I think this micro-session idea is probably a bad idea cos reads are gold.

Anyway, that evening it just happened that all the FR tables had long waitlists and it's been a while since i played 6-max - so I decided to go short!

from what ive gathered from your other posts daven, you have at least 50 buy ins for 100nl. just stop being such a freaking nit and play a full session there, and dont be scared of dropping $500.

Fuck the haters, your buy-in is your buisness.

WTF is up with your flop play?

re bankroll, cheers fnord. I won't move up before $5k. I think my nitty bankroll discipline is the main reason my bankroll continues to grow. It could grow faster perhaps, my loss. I debated playing poker to pay the bills. Still am. But not for a while - so moving up slowly is fine. I bought some cool stuff with poker money....

re the flop, a real re-raise and I'm pot committed and only a better hand is calling. People are somehow scared of min-re-raises but they don't seem to fold so I'm usually dragging someone along for the ride if they're behind. But I agree, it's not good play.

I could blame stack size, but i'm in similar situations against 50bb players all the time, so I'm used to the effective stack-size anyway. that's something I'd overlooked until just now - similarly, I play effective $100 stacks every session at 50nl, but the betsizing is different and nobody plays well deep at 50nl - everyone should read the article (fnord - link? or I could find it) about deep cash play... I think the move from 50nl to 100nl is about more than just the money you could win/lose in any one hand...

im not trying to hate, im trying to help. but yeah ultimately it is your decision. if you really dont feel comfortable playing with 30 buy ins, its a good decision to wait until you are comfortable, because playing scared sucks and will lose you monies.
