Default 10nl - flop tp facing aggression

BB got his stack from raising K8 on the BU, hitting an 8(tp) and getting called by a shorty w/ 66 and was generally being fairly agg with his raises.

should I be 3betting the flop bet?

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em, $0.10 BB (5 handed) Poker-Stars Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: FlopTurnRiver)

    saw flop|saw showdown

    Hero ($10)
    Button ($10.45)
    SB ($14.70)
    BB ($17)
    UTG ($10.40)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 8, A.
1 fold, Hero raises to $0.4, 1 fold, SB calls $0.35, BB calls $0.30.

    Flop: ($1.20) 7, 8, 5 (3 players)
SB checks, BB bets $0.8, Hero calls $0.80, SB folds.

    Turn: ($2.80) 3 (2 players)
    BB bets $2.4, Hero???

Raise flop, and fold to a 3bet. Calling just gave you an awkward turn decision, and I don't really know what to do about it. Fold I guess, but maybe call - things would be a lot easier for us had we raised the flop. It really depends how aggressive he is (any stats?). He can have 99-JJ, sets, 2pair, straights, even some slow played big overpairs, or he could have 89-8A - i.e a very wide range which we failed to narrow because of our flop call.

All of my above could be wrong because "fairly aggressive" means different things to different people. HUD stats would help.

raise flop and fold to 3b is exactly right. Often in this spot he has an 8 and is trying to protect his hand from you on the turn... so as played I would call.

not raising flop makes the other streets MUCH tougher and we lose value from all the silly 6 hands that call us that we're never paying off when a 9 or 4 hits. If he 3b flop, easy fold. If he flat calls, it's pretty obvious what he has (a 6, but if he goes apeshit later I'd watch out). Bet turn strong again, enough to give him bad odds if he checks turn.
