I think we should do a HU bracket tournament for some sort of FTR custom title and obviously some money.

Anybody interested in this?

I wast thinking a buy in in the 100+ range to guarantee max participation and most interest. I've posted this here cause this is the target audience.

Ok perfect now that we have some interest I'll start a thread to vote on structure and buy in etc. I would say we can do stars or full tilt. It doesn't have to be only one it just depends who you are playing.

I would need somebody to escrow on tilt though cause I don't have an account over there at the moment.

I'm thinking it probably should be 200 to make sure there are some substantial prizes for the winner(s).

I'm always eager to do this sort of thing but I feel like a red headed stepchild on Crypto. (That's being on Crypto makes me feel like a red headed stepchild, not said child who is also coincidentally playing on crypto).

It doesn't matter what site you play on as long as you find a way to play your matches with whoever you are up against and the structure is the same.

So the numbers are either going to be capped at 32 or 64. I think we should try and get 64.

Yes I think that would be the only way to work with everybody's schedule. Have this thing wrap up before June I think would be ideal.

Even if its a week per head to head match. If there are 64 people, thats only 6 rounds, so 6 weeks till its complete.

By my imperfect math that makes 22. We should be pushing to get 32 for sure I don't know if 64 is a stretch? Anyways promote this as much as you can the more people the better. If you haven't voted yet you should do so in the other thread.

The structure for now is going to be best 2 out of 3 matches at 200bb deep with no blinds increases. Stars has a 5 dollar sit and go option with this structure or you can use 1/2 play money hu tables. I'm not sure about full tilt but I'm sure there should be a similar option there. Once we get a full field we can finalize the structure and brackets etc.

I'd be interested as long as the buy-in is $100, this sounds like a lot of fun.

It's not 100% yet but it'll likely be best 2 out of 3 matches 200bb deep. However you decide to play that is up to you. Whether it's a sit and go with no blind increases or play money whatever it doesn't matter as long as the structure is the same. The buy in will be 100 or 200 likely 100 if the voting pattern stays the same. The payout will also be determined once we get a full field ie 32 or 64 players.

best 2/3 200bb deep is definitely the best format. I think we should just shoot for 32 people because the majority of cash players that would put up $100 or greater have already responded.

Can't you set up a private tournament or something? I don't think they will decline setting up a 100+10 tourney if you can get 20+ players together.
15min. levels double elimination. It's good enough for the NBC HU championchip, it should be good enough for FTR, and it's all done in one afternoon.

A hu match 2/3 200bb can last 1-2hrs. Now we have 5 rounds of that...

Could you be a little more clear on how the structure is supposed to work, and how the payouts are handled?
The idea of playing the matches weeks apart doesn't really appeal to me.
Why not just a single tourney - say Sunday 23:00 CET - that's prime grinding time, so I don't think too many people around here have other assignments there anyway.

I don't think you understand just how long these matches will take. It'll be 1-2 hours per match if you play all 3 tables at once. Count that for all the matches till the final and that's a full day. It's not really fair to make people give up their whole day for this plus it'll be much easier if they just schedule the matches on their own time. If you did 1 tournament you'd also have to pick one site which would not work for everybody.

At last count I have 31 with maybes included so I'm gonna start the official thread and people can start sending money to the appropriate escrows. Here's the list I have including maybes.

The buy in will be $100. The structure will be best 2 out of 3 matches (they can all be done at the same time on multiple tables) 200bb deep. Pokerstars has 1/2 play money tables where you can buy in for 200bb. I would say these would be the best idea since you don't have to pay any rake and don't need to have money on the site.

I will give more detailed info in the official thread when I make it. If you are a maybe on my list please confirm that you want in asap because I won't hold your spot if somebody else wants in for sure and sends money. There will be an escrow on full tilt and pokerstars will let you know in official thread who to send to and the deadline.

The next thing we need to discuss is the payout. Based on 32 players we have a prize pool of $3200. My reccomendation would be:

1st 1800
2nd 900
3rd 250
4th 250

Anybody like dislike this? Propose something if you like.
