200nl: A little bit lost of how to play this one

Opponent was playing 37/23 with AF on each street 3.5/1.8/2.5. My image was very tight and i have stacked the opponent when I got my AKs all in preflop in the BB against his QQ on the button which he 4-bet. I will post this hand in stages.

I assume that you aren't even considering folding?

I usually like a shove more when I have bottom or middle pair with my flushdraw, top pair is usually worse if your kicker is bad, like it is here.

With this preflop action you need to worry about 44/QT/QJ/KQ/FD. You are in pretty bad shape against 44 and QT and a slight underdog against QJ and KQ, but you are ahead of any flushdraw (except AcKc). If you think he will fold QJ/KQ, but call with a flushdraw, then a shove here is probably best.

It's perfectly fine to call here and check/fold the turn if you face a very big bet without improving (a check-raise on the turn is good if the next card is a J or A). You will often get to see the river for free.

People tend to overplay TP+FD sometimes.

it would've been much better if the J was out there instead of the 4, but meh

doesn't rly matter as long as you don't fold the flop

Thanks for the replies. I decided to call and try to get it in on the turn. I was questioning if I should have pushed the flop instead of calling? Also I really couldn't see myself folding the turn either.

I kinda agree with pocket fours here.

Normally I'd felt this in a second but my image is never "really tight" like OP stated.

If our image is tight, and we raised UTG and he's STILL c/r'ing us here with BB yet to act, I don't think this is a weak hand.

I don't think our push has any fold equity on the flop. I don't mind flat calling his raise since we have position. If we're tight, he'll have to respect our call wtih a mediocre hand. If he keeps firing, it might be ok to let this go.

Wow I just call the turn and c/f the river, he's letting you off cheaply betting 1/2 pot on the turn and you should never have the best hand and he isn't folding to a shove.

I don't know about a shove.. it seems like the easy way out, but it's kinda big.. and what other hands are you really shoving here? AQ? A set? I dunno, looks weird.

And after turn, he bets half pot but when you call he only has 1/3 pot left on the river where you make 2 pair, hard to get away. I think he has a set or something and is sizing his bets to ensure he gets your whole stack..

I like Pocketfours point about middle pair + FD being an easier felt than TP + FD for the obvious reasons (ur two pair outs not dominated). I don't mind how OP played it but c/calling turn is perhaps best since I don't see how we have any much fold equity or the best hand at this point.

A flop 4-bet is good too ont his type of board because you could have his combo draws/nut draw (something like a jc8c) crushed and should want to get it in ASAP.
