Default 3/6 - BvB vs. aggro reg

Villain is running 24/19/3.6 and 3bets a lot (9.5%). We don't have any history but I've been very aggro at this table (mainly vs. btn) and another he's on, 3betting a lot and not showing down many hands.

    UTG ($113.40)

Preflop: Hero is SB with 10, Q
4 folds, Hero raises to $18, BB calls $12

I fold tbh. It's a terrible flop for him to bluff raise or raise a FD and he woint raise any 1 pair hand either.

i think this is a perfect spot for him to make a bluff raise precisely because it forces all small hands (a big part of our range that will raise PF and cbet) to fold, including small PPs. i think folding is giving him way too much credit.

i'd call and reevaluate on the turn, and want to get it in on a non-club.

I dont get what hands he's not 3betting PF that have us beat besides KJ

He 3-bets a lot so we can rule out just about everything that beats us, except KJ, I guess....

I don't see anything wrong with calling and check-bombing the turn. another club comes maybe we slow down, but still...

    cooooooler?

Yeah, you kind of have to give him action here. I'd 3-ball it and put the rest in on the turn.

seems really dumb from a game theory standpoint to ever fold here, you just can't make sweeping assumptions about him and fold when you have one of the strongest hands in your range and his preflop range is so wide. A 3-bet isn't gonna be called by much worse so i default call and c/bomb the turn.

    Max nailed it.

This isn't a terrible board for him to bluff raise you on cause he'll know that your c betting your entire range on this board. When you call he should put you on some medium strength and he could think he can get you off it on the turn.

I also don't really get what he's repping other than KJ so my line would be call flop c/shove turn.

It's pure gold against nitty multi-tablers. Then again, I tend to like keeping the pot small.

Nothing but respect bro, but I think you worry waaaayyy waaaayyyy too much aobut people position owning you who just aren't very good at poker. Hence I think there is more value in small OOP (re)raises for a better immediate value proposition and to cost us less money when they re-raise us (because they fold too much.)

fnord, dude is a tough tag, not a nit. If this guy leaks in the bb facing a raise from sb, its by calling too much, not folding too much. Therefore we should maximize his mistake of calling too much by forcing him to call larger bets preflop/postflop.

The other reason i like making it 4x vs this player specifically is because it discourages a 3-bet (since he has to put in more), and also we can 4-bet shove 100bb for a much better price than if we 3x.

Oh yeah, and to tell you the truth, vs someone who's 3-betting and fucking around in general as much as this guy, I don't even hate open folding QTo oop.

I see what your saying and it probably does discourage a 3-bet from players. But i want to make this point:If your in the BB facing a 4x raises It shouldn't discourage a 3-bet from you (in fact in some cases it should encourage it) and you don't have to put in more.
