If I raise preflop with a monster (usually just big pocket pairs, maybe AK or AQ) and don't get any calls, I'll show the hand usually. I want them to know I had a real hand, and maybe be a bit more worried about calling me next time. But if lets say I have KK and they fold on the turn or river or something, I almost never show my hand. I don't give away my hands post flop because its information. Since I play every hand identically preflop (3xBB raise, only more if limpers in front of me), I'm not giving information away by showing, just showing that I've had big hands, and hopefully creating a tighter image for myself.
