Default Is 6-player for more advanced players rather than full ring?

Looking round these forums I get the impression that people think 6-max is for more advanced players than full ring. I have stuck exclusively to full ring because in 6-max the blinds would come round too quickly and as quite a tight aggressive player (20/8.5) I want to get value for my money. Also I would think you get less action simply because there are fewer people. I get frustrated when I raise with AA or KK etc and everyone at a full ring game folds and I imagine this would happen more at 6-ring. If anyone could offer an insight into this and the general differences between 6-max and FR that would be great

    The difference:

-At a 6max table only 6 players can be playing at one time.

-At a Full Ring table up to 9 or 10 players can be playing at a time.

you say that the blinds come around too quickly and you want to get value for your money... that makes no sense. everybody at the table is in the blinds just as much as you.
and i think you get more action at 6max.
also 20/8.5 at full ring is more like tight passive or slightly loose passive. not really tight aggressive.

at 6-max action is faster and more agressive. yes its for bteter players because u have to make more decisions and theres more agression (depends on stakes but ...) and presure...therefor weaker players will make more mistakes-its not just waiting for kk+.it takes lot of positional play.opponent reading....

20/8.5 is on the loose side, and pretty passive (you're not even raising 50% of your hands that you play).

6max there is MUCH more action than full ring.
    a) blinds come around faster. this means you're forced to play more hands, simply because if you don't you get blinded to death and you lose.
    b) since blinds come around faster, the games are more aggressive.
    c) since the games are more aggressive, there's more bluffing
    d) since there's more bluffing, that's where your AA/KK gets paid off huge

You have to stop looking at things from your perspective. What they say is true, what you say is true, but what does this mean to our opponents.

They have to pay more in blinds
They have to play weaker hands or get blinded to death
You don't have 7 players at the table playing 13/12/3.5
I play 30% more times from the button than FR which is bad for my opponents

I also play 30% more hands to clear bonuses, make rakeback and earn FPP's.

20/8.5 is not the way to play poker at any level. And like they said, not even close to a TAGG at FR. Try 14/14/3.5
