Villain is 30/13 over 39 hands. I lay this down to any decent bet on the turn. Thoughts?

Not a bad time for a semibluff. I usually fold this flop though after the reraise.

I like it, I usually play it the same. Sometimes I fold the flop but not when the effective stack is >100bbs left behind after calling his raise with a decent backdoor draws and middle pair.

I like it except that a raise of 4.5 into a 13.5 pot is too small imo...I'd make it around 10 on the turn.

what exactly constitutes a decent turn bet here?

I probably just call the turn.

I'm not sure what you mean, but I figured $10 because its about 2/3-pot raise, which is decent for repping a strong hand (from tpgk to str8). I was also thinking $10 looks scarier than $8-9, so more fold equity.

Op shows weakness. Why not reraise as a semibluff and help build pot if op calls? Showing weakness by calling is bad because you shut down most of the time if draw misses.

I prefer to take a hidden second pair to showdown a lot, rather than trying to steal pots on early streets where people are less likely to fold margina hands (99 would look us up on mutliple streets on this board for example, maybe even 77)
With position and nothing but a pair i tend to check flop, bet or call turn and then decide how i like the river play. Obviously if i pick up a draw on the turn with my pair i can then raise because i will play monster hands like this as well at times to encourage people to overplay weaker hands against me. I also bluff here with missed AQ/AK type hands to create action on my bigger hands.

Also. i dont just bet bet bet fold to aggression when i have a hand anymore, i try to be more creative with what im trying to achieve. Most players are lame enough to want to showdown a mediocre possibly good hand but also bad enough to be unable to fold that hnd when opp has been bluffing his pants off

I mostly fold the flop his c/r, but calling isnt bad in the right spots, especially if you are both deep enough. Turn is fine, I raise it a bit more though.

i would raise turn more, but the thinking that lead you to make the moves you did on each street is good

I generally don't bet this flop too. Worse hands are not drawing to a lot of outs, and better hands (Jx, 2p/set) won't fold and might even c/r which would suck. Turn is a easy raise (FE, lots of pot equity, easier to push a river etc.).
