Yeah, we can find a fold if the raise is substantial enough + half decent reads.
In this spot, I do what you do and practically ignore the shorty and focus on the larger stack. What I do is assume villain has either 2nd best hand (KK, AQ etc.) and/or flush draw. Thus, we need to be betting around 3/4 pot on flop, turn, and river. This strength we show makes it easier to put villain on a stronger hand when they raise us. Whereas, if we donk a street or two with weak bets, we must think that one reason for villains raise could be because we induced a bluff - higher variance, tougher decision.
