    Fold, easily.

he got what he was looking for, nobody calls a $30 turn bet without having a real draw/made hand.

QJ/flush/KT/K9/set all have you beat here, i don't like a call.

River bet shows some weakness on your part. 20$ into a ~100$ pot. This could be a really nice bluff by him, if he has any respect for your ability to lay down a good hand with both the flush and strait draws out there.

If he's really sneaky, he could have called the turn without the flush to set up for the bluff on the river.

Most of the time, he just actually has the hand made. It's a fold either way unfortunately, AA just isnt worth the 78$ to look him up. You could have probably saved yourself that 20$ by just check/folding, because I think almost any hand that is still involved in this pot is going to come over the top of 20$ on the river, besides maybe AK.

were you afraid that a real bet, instead of a minraise, would scare off any action? and by action i mean the very hand that beat you. here's the deal, getting cute with aces backfires like that regularly. it's better to get more money in the pot while you're still ahead, instead of being put on the spot like that to either call or fold that all in river bet. you must have had a reason not to bet the aces, but i'd like to hear it, and it better be good...
In answer to your question... it depends...

8 preflop, 15 on flop, 40 on turn..

Check/call river probably. The way you played it, I'd fold. On the river I wouldn't bet $20 as it shows a lot of weakness.

There is nothing that make people bet big on you as a weak bet on the river in a shorthanded game, I've done it way to much myself.

Yep. Keep that in mind when you flop 2 pr or trips and make a FH on the turn or river...Strong bets pre flop and on the flop getting progressively weaker on turn/river can induce bluffs that you can come over the top of when you have big hands. Especially short handed.

I still think you push the flop and hope he caught something worse than AA.

Pushing ~120 into a $20 pot probably isn't smart. You'll likely only get called by better hands, or hands that are about 50/50 (Pair + Flush draw)

sorry, you're right, in $1/2 the minraise would only be $2. in this case, you bet $4. but i think my point is still valid, and that is to bet like you mean it.
