    Default AJ Heads Up vs AI

    This is the immediate hand after he doubled me up. He had a 2-1 on me and now I have a 2-1 on. Do I gamble here or wait it out if I think I can outplay him? He was fairly loose aggressive

    PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t800 (2 handed) FTR converter on zerodivide.cx

    Hero (t19820)
    Button (t7180)

    Preflop: Hero is BB with J, A.
    Button raises to t7130, Hero ???

    I call all day. Even if he does win, it will be about 12k - 14k and you will still have time to outplay him. Had he done this before with a strong/weak hand? This is a pretty good spot, and if you can't put him on a hand then:

    equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
    Hand 1: 63.5633 % 62.54% 01.03% { AhJs }
    Hand 2: 36.4367 % 35.41% 01.03% { random }

    This isn't a random hand he's up against.

    The best realistic scenario is he's flipping here. Its possible he's dominated, but doubtful, probably just as possible that he's dominating.

    If the blinds weren't so cumbersome, I'd consider folding here. With these blinds its probably a call.

    I think that's really what this comes down to, if you're confident enough to win without putting it all on this hand then you might be able to fold it.

    Having said that, since villain only has 9xBB I almost certainly call.

    I think you can narrow his range a little more than that.

    Right on. But still with that, it would make sense to call, correct?

    call all day.

    If Ted Forrest calls a limp push with AJ HU, you can feel good calling here.

    A8, 66 would be tough. AJ I break my arm calling.

    At first glance I thought below was a realistic range to put villain on

    equity (%) win (%) tie (%)
    Hand 1: 57.8496 % 54.57% 03.27% { AJo }
    Hand 2: 42.1504 % 38.88% 03.27% { 22+, A2s+, KTs+, QTs+, JTs, A2o+, KTo+, QTo+, JTo }

    However, if villain is a thinking opponent then with less than 10BB they should be pushing a much wider range. Very similar to what Darby posted, maybe even wider. This should be a clear call when you take into account the blinds.

    thanks for the stats darby, i think thats a pretty good range to put him on

    Can't find a better spot to call an AI with AJ with 800 blinds to try and eliminate your opponent.

    The other guy has a big range of hands that he should be raising with so I'm sure AJ has a good equity on this range.

    The thing most people haqven't said is, he probably DOES NOT have herp dominated, since JJ-AA may raise only enough to pot commit themselves, while still hoping for a call.
    To win in poker you only need to be one step ahead of your opponents. Two steps may be detrimental.

    right o. Plus, hands like K6 are bringing down the numbers, but it's much more like you're in against a worst A than KweakX
