Default AJo oop vs LAGG on BTN

no real history with the player, on 40 hands opp is playing 38/35.
i felt i would be floated often here, and hands like broadways with one heart might easily float then bet a checked turn due to little showdown value..

now in thinking about it again, I think IF i have the best hand on the flop, I am generally quite a bit ahead, and if i'm behind i'm well behind. so perhaps check/calling this flop is a good line.

    whats your take?

    $2/$4 No Limit Holdem
    5 players

    Stacks:
    UTG martyb12 ($400.00)
    CO CheckCallMan ($549.90)
    BTN chirpybroxxx ($535.50)
    SB Hero ($390.00)
    BB PerGYUnyA ($1184.02)

    Pre-flop: ($6, 5 players) Hero is SB
2 folds, chirpybroxxx raises to $12, Hero raises to $48, 1 fold, chirpybroxxx calls $36

    Flop: ($100, 2 players)
Hero bets $62, chirpybroxxx calls $62

    Turn: ($224, 2 players)
Hero checks, chirpybroxxx bets $101, Hero calls $101

    River: ($426, 2 players)
    Hero checks, chirpybroxxx bets $324.50

Check calling is best on the flop here. As played the river is decision time, if he is LAGgy and yout hink this is a pot that he would fight over calling down is good, your hand is a bluff catcher though hes not value-cutting himself here.
Flopping quads and boats like its my job

This seems more a bluff then something else.
Unless there is history between the 2 of you, would villain slow play set/2pairs on this flop? and would he bet less then 1/2 on turn + a huge value bet on river? after turn bet he would put you on a Ace that he would like you to call and he would value bet less I think.

I like your line and I call the river.
Currently thinking of a new quote/signature... Some sort of prayer to the Poker gods for enlightment etc..

    I like this line.

How loose/light is he calling 3best preflop? Would he be calling a lot of offsuit hands like KQo, QJo etc etc?

Given we have the Jh, I feel like the only really strong hand he'd have here is KQhh, as other lower flushes would probably raise this flop for protection a good amount of the time. (67hh, 79hh etc).

So we're mostly only worried about KQhh and 8x on the river. I think thats a pretty thin enough range to call on this river, especially w hen your checks might have induced and he might somehow view this 8 as a good bluffing card.

I think the c/c flop is best, I mean if i have hands like KK/QQ/JJ i wouldn't lead those here.

Now, if he knows that I would play those hands in this way, would it make sense to call a triple barrel here from him with a hand like AJ (or any other ace)

i'm a bit torn now, a couple of you say you actually like my line. do you think this is a clear spot where IF i call the turn i have to automatically call the river as well (or will he generally bluff less often on river because he feels he has little FE when I only have $175 or so left)

also, could i hear an advocate here for check-calling the flop, and why, and how you react to a turn bet and specific boards.
    thanks

If your read is that he will float you often on this flop, your line is the best one to take. It's not exactly a spot where you have to call river if you call turn. Your read is that he's floating you, so you expect the turn barrel, if you aren't necessarily expecting him to barrel all in on the river you don't necessarily have to call. The decision hinges on whether you think he's value betting or bluffing. I agree 100% w/ Griffey that villain has to have basically exactly KQhh in order to have taken this line for value. Any smaller flush is going to raise the flop, any set is going to raise the flop, 2 pair is going to raise the flop, he never does this w/ A9. That leaves basically KQhh and some random 8 (fwiw I could also see 8T playing like this looking for a safe turn), but I also think it's not often enough that he has those exact hand combinations that it's pretty easy to put him on a bluff and call here. I think you're gonna see KhQx or something similar pretty often.

if you take the line of check-calling flop, how do you play this turn/river if the board is the same?

i also felt most hands that are way ahead of me would raise the flop, which is why it caught me by surprise in the end.

    he had 46h
