I muck. Could sooo easily be a set or spades, and I strongly doubt he's throwing in a potsize with air here.. On top of that, we don't really beat much at all.

i'm thinking that bet/folding the turn might be a much better play here.

betting flop is kind of marginal but fine. Bet folding turn is infinitely better against an opponent who isnt going to semibluff shove a wide range which is my suspicion. As played the river is a fold.

Why didnt u bet that turn ?? ur just asking for a big river bet that way and u dont konw where u are..preflop it was so cheap for him he can be there with anything.. if u bet and he calls turn and then lead into u for pot on river u can easily muck.. but anyway the way u played it he can have AK too and bet pot on river and then u have to do the decision.

all depends on player. can you explain what nitty mean ??? i hear it all around here lol.

Preflop it means someone that doesn't raise a lot of hands or call a lot, a very tight range. Post-flop it generally means someone who's not often putting money in the pot without the nuts.

If this villain is very nitty I don't mind the hand was played assuming you folded the river.

yeah i folded. it thought longer about it than i'd like to admit.

it's a decent leak of mine. the stronger my hand, the more likely i can make the big laydown. i'm just recalling an earlier hand from my session where i called with AJ TPTK on the river to a 1/3 pot bet. i only beat a bluff or a weaker J. unfortunately, it was a value bet with the flush.

The turn check through isn't horrible against a passive player, who might pay off a river value bet with a jack, but would probably fold to a second barrel once the K comes.

Against an aggro opponent who is capable of making big bluffs and bets to weakness, I'd probably bet this turn though. I'd also probably bet this turn with my K, since I'd probably double barrel here with air if I didn't have the K.
