Default Buying in with a less than maximum amount...

I am currently playing .05/.10 ($10NL). I play 3 or 4 tables at a time at Pokerstars. I was playing $25NL but I do not have to bankroll to support a big swing, so I dropped to .05/.10.

I am sitting up $7.55 in 785 hands played since moving down to these stakes last night.

Now I usually buy in with $6, I'm not exactly sure why, I guess I would rather lose $6 instead of $10. My question is, what is the upside in buying in with $10?

    Thank you

Basically with a shortstack you lose/win the same amount of small pots as with a full stack, but you make less in allin hands when you have teh nutzors. you have a more FE, but thats if you have 40BBs and will only win like that if you are SICK post flop
My sig is too much for you to handle.

Why are you thinking about how much you would rather lose when you sit down? instead of "well if i stack off with aces, maaaybe i want to win more monies"

Think about maximizing profit instead of "well im just gonna lose it anyways" imo

One of the biggest money makers at these stakes are sets. Sets require implied odds. With a 4bb pre-flop raise as standard (pretty standard at NL10) you do not have the implied odds to call with pocket pairs for sets if your stack is only 60bb.
