I didn't want to raise him anywhere because I didn't want the pot size to get out of control but I wasn't going to fold either. Something about him betting into me didn't scare me a whole lot. Maybe it was some sort of subconsious read. I don't know. Anyways, how would you play it?

I like it. I figure it's a J worse kicker, but there are still lots of other things that beat you, and with the deep stacks, I like just calling there.

*checks* heh. You bluff at him much? I guess he thought he could push you off here.
    If I had a hammer
    I'd drop in the morning
    I'd drop in the evening..

I don't mind the smooth-calling there, although if it were me I'd raise on the turn at least. If he does have jack-worse kicker, you don't want him to have a free card to draw a boat against your ace.

I like it. It was almost like he played the hand for you. I mean, you bet when you should have preflop and post flop, and then he started betting when you hit your set. You got a buyin out of it, so I say you did g00t. Maybe his screenname gave him away
In answer to your question... it depends...

Half a buyin. But I'll still take what I can get. Thanks for all the responses.

OH and would you all have been mad if I folded?

Try and pretend you don't know the outcome of the hand.
$25 river bets make me a little nervous some times.

i would have raised the turn to give bad odds to a straight/flush draw. i can't comprehend why you would consider folding the river, getting 3:1 to call with trips top kicker.
