Alright, I just finished a frustrating 2nd place 10 times in a row at 20$ 6Max SNGs, and altho' 2nd place generates a .5 profit at UB, I'd rather come in 1st thrice and lose the rest, I hate 2nd place that much.

The SB raising range I'm using is,

All Aces
All Pairs
Face/8
Suited Connectors

Face/8 and Suited Connectors increases the range S&M suggests to appr. 50% as opposed to Face/9 and 40%. This is a little higher than S&M suggests, because most people can't deal with all of the aggression, and the people who can deal with it can't deal with the turn that well.

The BB re-raising range I'm using is,

All Aces unsuited
All Pairs
20 unsuited

I'll throw in a 3Bet with Suited Connectors just to get the re-raising range to appr. 20% or even K/Q/J-X suited to get it up to 33%. This is a lot higher than S&M suggests, but I don't think their suggestion of re-raising 10% is sufficient. I've tried it in appr. 100 SNGs, and re-raising 10% doesn't dent the opponent's raising range. They'll either call, drop their hand or just go over the top more often than not, but their raising range doesn't decrease at all and sometimes it even increases as a result, because they think you're being nitty and now they know when to drop their hands.

The BB calling range I'm using is,

All Aces suited
20 suited
Suited Connectors
K/Q/J-X suited

I hate calling, but sometimes you need to call in order to set up the slow plays with AA, KK, AK, AQ and KQ. Suited high cards have been solid, as long as you intend to be aggressive across at least 2 streets, you'll either pick up chips or end the game with a Flush. Suited Connectors are there for balance, since AXs and K/Q/J-Xs plays the low end of the board, you need to make it as believable as possible. People give such little credit to rags that you can take them all the way to value town and then set up big bluffs or C/Raises on low boards for later. I tend to move the calling range into the re-raising range to meet the 20 to 33% re-raising quota, but I'm big on flushes and semi-bluffs OOP.

How far am I off with this? I don't think the 50% raise is a big deal, against a lot of people it's advisable just to raise 100% from the SB until the nits decide to deal with you. 20-33% re-raise is where I'm breaking from the books, but people either spam the raise button from the SB or drop/over play every hand they're re-raised with. I prefer to be a cowardly bully H2H, raising and re-raising to drive down their calling and raising percentages and constrict them until they decide to over play a bad hand or give me a chance to gamble with the chip lead. Calling is what I really don't get, and where I feel I'm being really nitty. Usually when I call, it's because I'm getting my re-raises pushed, at which point I just try calling and C/Raising the flop to mix things up.

On average I win 2+ out of 4 SNGs, not counting second place finishes as wins or losses, I use 1 2nd place finish to cover the rake or 2 2nd place finishes to discount a loss, but I can't seem to get traction ATM. I'm starting at around a 2/1 disadvantage on average, but it doesn't feel like a major factor. I'm fairly confident in my play, but I'm starting to think my approach to H2H is all wrong.

It's just been one of those days, any help would be appreciated.
