Feedback on live $2/5 hands

First I want to apologise for what seems a fairly redundant thread regarding Joe Hachem the other night. The point was not to criticise his play, I was just impressed at the amount of money these high stakes guys can burn through in a night. It was also cool just watching him play. I guess I worded it badly.

Anyway.

I want to share these hands from the weekend and get some input from other players, particularly high stakes players as I plan to move up to $5/10 soon.

I like the way I played them, but am interested in how others would have played.

Hand 1:

Villain is a clever, experienced tight-aggressive player.

Hero (SB) ~ $550
Villain (MP) ~$800

5 Players limp in, I complete, BB checks.

Flop

Hero bets $25

Action folds to Villian, who raises to $100

Action folded back to hero

Hero.....?


Hand 2:

Shorthanded table. No real reads on villain, although I can tell he's a little inexperienced.

Hero (Button) ~ $740
Villain (MP) ~ $650

Villain raises to $45 preflop
Hero calls with

Flop :Jh:

Villain checks
Hero checks

Turn

Villain bets $125

Hero....?

1- allin
2-bet flop, fold turn

'Villain is a clever, experienced tight-aggressive player' who limped pf and is now getting excited in a 7 way pot. What hands do you put him on? You have 0 folding equity here IMO and you are definitely behind, i just don't see him having anything other than 44 or 66 here with the given information. It sucks to fold there on the flop but in my opinion it is the best play unless villain will pay off a flush (which he won't if he is a good player).

he'll pay off your flush if you put it all-in on the flop... I think you have to consider nut flush draws + AQ/KQ in his range along with 44/66.

yea, i believe saying we have 0 folding equity is just being results oriented. theres always some FE against a tight/agg player.

also, if we never shove here, we're never getting action from him with much better hands.

2/5 live isn't a big game nor should it be very tough.

How can i be results oriented if i havent seen the results?
IMO you are up against a set far too often here to push.

There are plenty of other spots where we can play aggressively with draws.

i meant the original poster is results oriented when saying he has no folding equity.

I pushed hand one. Villain was clearly surprised by the push, which is a good thing. He thought for a long time, before reluctantly calling. He had KQo, which surprised me - I think thats a very loose call, particularly from someone like him. No help came for me and he took down the pot.

The second hand I pushed as well. He was clearly concerned about the JJ on the board, so I went over the top of him. He thought about it, and folded.

I guess he isn't that clever. (hand #1)

Isn't your push in the second hand an overbet? Why not just make a decent raise?

Yeah I do. I've been thinking that one over. He made it 125, the minimum I was going to make it was 350.

At the time I didn't want to give him room to manoeuvre or come back at me, but in hindsight I see it as an overbet.

Re Hand 1

I was honestly surprised at his hand when he showed it. This guy is a regular player and I know him to be good. I think its a very weak call given he didn't even have top kicker. I guess he figured (correctly) that he was in front on the flop and saw that as justification to call.
