Default Flopped set facing scary board and AI bet...

This happened the other night and I'm curious what others would do in this situation.

Read: BB seemed to be somewhat selective of starting hands and didn't do anything to get noticed by me as being out of the ordinary...

Sorry, no hand histories on the site I'm playing on...

    $20 6-max NL
Stack sizes: BB and me both over 125BB each
My Hand: 22 on the button

3 people see the flop (BB, MP, and me all limp)

    FLOP: 2 3 4 rainbow
BB pushes All In, MP folds, Hero ???

So he just limps in and then pushes without provocation into a bunch of deep stacks on that flop? I would insta-call and expect to see him turn over something like A4, 34, 45, or 55. If he has A5 or 56, you still have outs. His play here is way too weird to put him on a true monster.

    Thanks for the responses!

I called. The board paired and I made a boat. BB had 56 for a flopped str8

nh sir. His push is pretty baffling but I guess he figured he 'd rather get paid big one time in ten than try to weasel smaller, more reliable payouts out of opponents who may not have much on a board like that. It's rare enough for someone to play the hand that way that with a set, I'll pay them off every time (or suck out on them as often as possible, anyway).

    Yup.

He probably got sick of his straights getting beaten all the time. It sometimes seems that flopped straights gets screwed as often as 2pair does. Nice suckout fish! Just kidding, I woulda played it the same.
