Villain is ok. I've been running pretty good, he called me down with third pair when I was bluffing recently. He's not a maniac.

he would literally have to have 44 and that would make his turn float bad (seeing how he doesnt have the 4h)

I'm torn between calling and shipping, not calling and folding, there just aren't enough full house combinations that play the hand this way.

Yeah 44 is the only boat that makes sense, I mean otherwise WTF at lost value.

I'm going for the smooth call instad of the shippage. Like other people have been saying, His range for a full house seems misplayed for value. However, I would simply call to be on the safe side instead of getting stacked.

I think 44 and 45 both makes sense in this spot for boats.

I call here a lot probably and pay him off if he has it.

I agree with griffey one hundred percent. Just for bluff value alone it is almost impossible to fold this, unless you have a read i don't know about. But you would never even raise this situation because his range and play is definitely saying boat. Obviously if he called you before on third pair and has been playing well he has to assume you for a heart the way you played it and if he's not scared of that and you have the Ace you know he doesn't so he has to have a boat or a complete bluff. it's just sad that the only thing you can beat in this situation with the nut flush is a bluff. But hey, that's the wonderful game of poker. Gl on the felt.

I would not even think about it, what is the chances for that he is calling a raise with a 54 or a 52...
would go allin.

yeah you have to fold there i would not have checked the flop since all you had was top pair in no means is a monster shoulda called though

It's a tough call here. Obviously, nobody but you is qualified to answer this. You can't take one situation and try to give advice. Only you know the types of hands this player is willing to call a raise with. Often times, if I decide to try and bluff at a pot, I will smooth call and hope that a scare card comes on the turn or river. He could have had a pocket pair that didn't improve or could have had a KQs or a hand that didn't hit. He could have taken your smooth calls as a sign of weakness and thought your showdown bet was a bluff, since you missed on the board. He could have made the raise to get you off of your hand worthy of only smooth calls. Or he could have flopped a monster and was waiting for you to improve. Good luck out there at the tables.

I think you have to call there...yea it sucks that he hit the only card in the deck that will pay him off big but thats poker sometimes

I think you need to ask yourself what your value betting range on this river is. Are you betting Th for value? Maybe. Qh probably and Kh and Ah definitely. HU you should potentially even be betting 88h, 99h for value here.

Now ask yourself, how much of this range are you b/f on this river. IF you want to b/f Ah here, that means you're b/f that entire range above. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but definitely shows that this is a great spot to bluff for villain.

If he knows this is a great spot to bluff... then we can't fold the Ah here I don't think.

(other side of the coin: If we're villain here, we should probably bluff raising a lot, given how small of his value betting range might be capable of calling here)

I call this all day and then beat my wife when he flips 44.
