    Default Hand vs Fnord (Tilt?)

Played this against a member who shall remain nameless. This is tilt, right?

    UTG is terrible.
    SB is terrible.
Fnord has been fairly active, lost a couple medium pots from Hero at showdown. Won a 3-bet pot on a c-bet into a raggy flop against Hero.
    Hero's image is solid.

    $1/$2 No Limit Holdem
    PokerStars
    6 players
    Converted at weaktight.com

    Stacks:
    UTG ($178.25)

    CO ($316.50)
    BTN ($200.00)
    SB ($178.00)
    Fnord ($331.70)

    Pre-flop: ($3, 6 players) Hero is UTG+1
UTG raises to $4, Hero calls $4, 2 folds, SB calls $3, Fnord calls $2

    Flop: ($16, 4 players)
SB checks, Fnord checks, UTG checks, Hero bets $10, SB calls $10, Fnord raises to $50, UTG folds, Hero calls $40, SB folds

    Turn: ($126, 2 players)
    Fnord checks, Hero checks

    River: ($126, 2 players)
Fnord bets $50, Hero calls $50

If you're gonna turn your hand into a bluff on the flop then at least bet the turn when a reasonably good card comes to get better hands to fold.

preflop is.... bad obv. River... yah not a fan.

    Bet the turn as played.

Fnord is not hero and hero is probably betting for value initially.

I didn't like the turn either, although I'm such a station it's understandable.

BTW: What range are you putting Fnord on? The answers are usually pretty amusing...

what are you doing here on the flop?

I'd be absolutely dumb founded if ftr member called you with worse.

As played turn is pretty tricky, i think the safest thing is c/f since he has a fd a lot on the flop.

I'd just c/c the flop or lead. I'm liking leading i think.

Personally in the heat of the moment I'm not. But, there are a lot of shitty hands which we have a small equity advantage over that are willing to add their money to the collective, especially from the live ones, so I figure that someone who's better at poker than me would make what I think is the best play looking retrospectively.

    What am I missing?

What do you think I have? Anyway, leading certainly was an option.

/agree I checked intending to fold but wanted to see timing/bet size and give myself a chance to talk myself into some prime time spew.

How's my river line? I seriously considered $60 or $70ish but wanted to give myself an interesting decision if I was shoved on.

    lol

I don't know if this is tilt or not from hero. It's probably just a bad call/read on his part due to playing too many tables?

Oe he just leveled himself by thinking something like "ZOMG fnord knows I'm an FTRer and is trying to outplay me."

Your c/r on the flop is super strong, so you either have 2pair+ or a good draw like KdQd.
Once you check the turn, I would rule out any draw that you might have, and assume that you have something like 97 for the small straight, or two pair or a set.

Your river bet looks like a value/blocking bet hoping to get value from TP or a weak two pair.

if one more person doesnt realize Fnord doesn't have J9o I'm going to break something.

WTF Fnord, why bet river with J9????!!!

im an amatuer but id think maybe your were on Q 9. pushed it hard on the flop. saw the diamond and checked. after he checked also you figure he doesnt have the flush and throw in the 50?

this is what i suspect being able to see the whole hand. in game hard to say.

The guy making his first post wins the thread.

sweet what do i win? lol. i was just tossing up whether i thought u had the Qd or not... if you did, you may have bet the turn as well? so i decided not.

i just started playing online about 3 days ago with a $50 deposit. been playing $1 then $3 SNG's and am up to about $76 now after about 35 games.

have been reading through some of the threads here when i need to get away from the tables or im at work like now haha. so im sure you will see more of me most likely asking advice...

Rounders has been my fav movie for quite a few years

Hero is clearly not thinking straight.
"It is impossible for you to learn what you think you already know."

    lol yep!

Read op. Hero i think should just fold preflop no? Then not bet the flop. Then not call fnord's raise. THEN he should shove the turn. Obv fold river.

I guess Fnord has like T8?

I had the nut straight on the flop (second nuts because I had no diamond so there is a very small chance I get freerolled.)

Against strong players leading out is probably best. Against weaker players and a player pool that tends to flat a lot of draws they would otherwise semi-bluff with I like a c/r to set-up a turn push or worse hand (sets, combo draws, maybe two pair, perhaps lots of other stuff for the fish) to "fuck it" shove over.
